[ONE-NORTH, SINGAPORE] Who loves a good brunch? I do!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 I had a not-so-good experience with their pastas previously, but this time I decided to stick to their brunch fare and I must say it can't go wrong 😍

Their Sausage & Eggs ($14) may look simple, but it was such a delight to have. They are well known for their toasts, and that sourdough was not only crispy on the edges, but soft and chewy in the middle. The eggs were perfectly creamy, with the right consistency without being too watery!

Their sausage may be store bought, but it was meaty and well grilled for the enhanced flavour. Now their tomatoes are the highlight for me, as it was not only juicy and sweet on the inside, the flat side was well grilled and it soaked up the meat juices from the pan well.

This may be slightly small, but it definitely still made me happy! Coming back for their avocado toast next time 🤭

[ONE NORTH, SINGAPORE] One of the longer running cafes in the region, Bread Yard offers a wide variety of pasta and brunch options during weekday lunch timing. While their sides were quite good, we unfortunately find their pasta and coffee to be decent at best 🥲

The Pesto Mafaldine Pasta ($18 with meatballs and onsen egg) may look good, but it was somehow lacking the punch of basil flavour I was looking for. The pasta was also overcooked and did not have the al dente texture 😢 meatballs were okay.

The Blue Pea Yuan Yang ($5.50) was also lacking in flavour, for both coffee and earl grey tea. It somehow tasted like milk with a hint of both 🥲

The sides were good though, with the Tater Tots ($6) being quite sizable and crispy as well. The Spicy Buttermilk Wings ($12) were crispy and juicy on the inside too!

All in all, I remembered their food was better, perhaps because I ordered their brunch last time. Perhaps it's better to stick to those options!

If you’re a bread lover, then the name “Bread Yard” should be a familiar one! Located in Buona Vista, they serve generous portions of food. The only downside is that you have to arrive early before all the bread gets bought up!

I ordered their Shakshuka, a spiced tomato stew served with beef kofta kebab, feta cheese, eggs, sumac onions, pesto, and brioche. The spice level is very manageable for me, and this dish is rich in flavor, pairing well with their brioche.

We also tried their brunch classic, the Full English - Farmer’s sausage, bacon, eggs, beans, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms, brioche, honey thyme butter. It’s manageable for one person to finish.

Overall, the cafe can be a bit cramped due to its size, and there might not be available seats or food if you arrive too late after the morning rush.

Went to Bread Yard today and ordered their Mentaiko Pasta ($12), Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict ($16), French Fries ($6), and their Mushroom Truffle Alfredo ($16)!😇

Overall ratings 3/10! Honestly, the Mentaiko pasta was wayyyy too fishy for me even though i'm a mentaiko lover... (not gonna lie I am usually not picky but I sent it back to the kitchen saying its a bit too much for me, but they were kind enough to cancel it off my bill🤧) Mushroom Truffle Alfredo was also pretty bland (and the Onsen egg had a hair stuck to it😰) The French Fries and the Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict were not bad tho but do not think I will go back again after this experience🥲

Crispy and fresh pastry with many other options to choose from.
The Passion Fruit Cruffin was amazing. (4.5/5)
The Matcha Cruffin was too strong. (2/5)
Vibe is a bit meh

We ordered :
$15 Pull Pork Eggs Benedict
$22 Rosti (Scrambled)

We decided to have our lunch at Bread Yard and personally I feel the food is overrated. There is no wow factor nor it is bad. Both items are decent but I would not specially come back for them. Service crews are friendly and welcoming. Price is decent and dining area is clean.

Always a fan of their brunch fare, but sadly this pasta did not meet my expectations.

I had the Mushroom Bacon Truffle Alfredo ($15) and pasta noodles were overcooked and the sauce was too watery in my opinion. However, the nacon pieces were well sautéed and did give the dish their umami flavour. There was a strange flavour in the dish, not sure if its the truffle oil?

With the 20% off main dish from #burpplebeyond, perhaps it can be better used on their brunch fare!

i honestly don't remember what i bought. i think it's bread??? do yall think it's bread? looks like bread to me 🧐

what i do remember though: it wasn't really worth it because i ate it without beyond🥹 but vibes were good and i love bread so i'd go back

Two perfectly poached eggs sitting on pulled pork on top of Hokkaido brioche toast. Served with a side of pinto bean salsa, romaine salad and peri-peri sauce. The pork was lightly marinated and wasn’t too overwhelming, which paired well with the runny yolks that burst open when cut into. Both salsa and salad were delicious sides. I thought the brioche toast felt a little stale - it wasn’t toasted nor fluffy. But overall, a great place to have all-day brunch with generous servings and brisk service!

4.5⭐️/5 Pulled Pork Benedict - Applicable for burpple 20% off
($14 before GST and 20% off)

The benedict consist of egg benedict, pulled pork and a toast at the bottom. The pulled pork is a little sweet and not overwhelming with the marination. That toast is soft and crispy. Combination of this 3 ingredients is perfect.
This is served with a salad and sauce (which i think its for the salad which taste a little spicy and like balsamic vinegar).
This is a very satisfying complete brunch meal.

4⭐️/5 Shakshuka Beef Kofta - Applicable for burpple 20% off
($16 before GST and 20% off)
This dish is served with Sour Dough bread, Beef Kofta and a egg at the bottom.
The Shakshuka is a little spicy and tangy due to the tomato base.
Beef Kofta taste really good and well seasoned. The texture is like meatball, it has a little bite to it.
The sour dough bread is quite stiff (which is perfect for dipping).
Overall, the bread dipped in the shakshuka with the meatball and egg gives it a very hearty meal especially on a cold weather.

The salmon slab is tender and juicy, and pairs well with the basil pesto sauce. The brown rice will also help keep you filled till the next meal!

Shakshouka ($16)
We chose both vegetarian (with mushrooms) and non-vegetarian (with beef kofta). Such a huge and filling portion, very worth even without the 20% burpple deal! There were two large eggs, pesto and feta cheese as well, plus fresh sourdough bread on the side. Definitely would recommend!

Iced coffee ($5)
Nice and refreshing on a hot day!

Overall I’ve been to Bread Yard a few times now and have not been disappointed with the food and price point! Very good to hang out and stop by even for a small with fresh bread and pastries.

This dish is so good! Very flavourful and tasty. Pull pork is tender and taste so good with the runny yolk. The salad adds to a refreshing tinch. ($14 for pull pork eggs benedict)

Really enjoyed both dishes that we got! They've also got quite a simple menu so it wasn't that difficult to choose

The downside is that it might get sickening to have one dish to yourself given the quantity (and price) so better to check this place out if you're sharing with a friend rather than a meal for yourself

1) Pulled pork benedict (14)
- the pork was good and generous
- surprisingly the dish was not salty even after it was cold
- the egg was runnyyyy
- the peri Perry sauce was a mix of tangy and sweet but didn't really use it

2) Mushroom Alfredo ($16)
- this had a light truffle smell and lots of mushrooms
- they could have given a little more bacon
- quite liked the sauce and pasta!

Always been a fan of the food here, and tried something new! The steak sandwich ($14, 20% with #burpplebeyond) was pretty well filled with steak cuts, cheese and mushrooms which was very well cooked! The steak cuts were flavourful and very tender. Together with the creaminess of the cheese and umami from the mushrooms, it was a wholesome sandwich! Even the homemade bread useful was good and can be eaten on its own. The sandwich comes with a soup, and it was a homemade tomato soup that was alright. Pretty good lunch option if you work nearby!

Generous amounts of pulled pork. Bread was very soft, egg yolk was very runny! Flavour was very delicious, great serving of salad as well. Will definitely order again on the next visit!
