Jalilah Corner always has a steady, long queue during weekend breakfasts.

Some of the popular dishes I noticed on the surrounding tables include Mee Siam, Mee Rebus, and Nasi Lemak—though the Nasi Lemak is only available on weekends.

The fried chicken was absolutely delicious—super crispy and freshly fried. The turnover rate for the fried chicken here is incredibly fast, so you know it’s always fresh.

The chilli was also exceptionally spicy and shiok, adding the perfect kick to the meal.

#01-73 used to house 1 of my childhood western food stall(Pete's Western Food), and was surprised to see that another shop as taken its place.

To be Honest, the braised ducks that were on display looked damn good and I had to try it.

The braised duck was tender, and portion was very big for a drumstick.

The soup was herbalicious. And the chilli was great as well.

Char Siew Cheong Fun is the classic combination and their best-seller. The silky smooth Cheong Fun is rather thin, springy and melt right in your mouth. You can taste its savoury sweet flavour of their Char Siew as they are seasoned well. The Hong Kong style sauce was made from a right mixture of dark and light soy sauce with sesame oil to make it slightly sweet and not too salty. Absolutely delicious if you complement it with their savoury chilli sauce.

Tried their Braised Duck Rice set for $4.50 and find it reasonable in view of the generous portion of Duck Meat, Tofu, Salted Vege and Egg. A savoury sauce was added to both the ingredients and Yam Rice to intensify the taste. Duck meat was tender, moist and fatty while the yam rice was fluffy and fragrant. The soup served was prepared for their kway chap and you can smell the aromatic herbal flavour. Don’t miss out on their sambal chilli as they are super delicious. Overall, a perfect combination of sweetness, saltiness and aromatic.

The gravy of the Mee Rebus was thick and very aromatic as you can smell the different types of spicies used. You can tasted the sweetness of the sweet potatoes and spiciness of the lemongrass, ginger and chilli right after the first mouth. Ingredients include Yellow noodles, Sprouts, Tofu, Egg, Green chilli and more. They even squeezed in a lime for you to enhance the taste. Absolutely yummy!

Not bad thanks to the fresh tasting pork lard oil, and just nice portion. Bowl comes with fishballs, pork slices, fish cake. Rare to find pork slices in meepok these day. The stall, which also sells fish slice soup, is manned by a husband and wife team and their two sons also help out these days.

Nasi lemak from a drink stall ?
Mohamadia Coffee Stall

This stall has had the tradition of selling their 1.50 traditional cute little nasi lemak packets and their curry puffs for years. Slowly but surely these packets fly off the shelf as regulars come to get their supper and a splendid cup of full bodied teh Tarik or teh halia.

The stall owners were so friendly that they stopped in their busy-ness to pose and smile for my photo.

The nasi lemak was perfect for a supper with crispy ikan billis, pretty good sambal and a slice or two of fried kuning fish. No frills - just a sincere packet of nasi lemak - like it came out of a home kitchen 😊.
I paired my nasi lemak with their teh-O- halia - which was so fragrant with a spicy gingery kick .

Only 4 stalls are open in this Hawker in the evening. The Indian mee goreng from the stall next door looks so popular that orders keep coming in but red coloured noodles are really not my thing . It somehow seems more popular with males - they have a thing for fried red and greasy noodles hahahah!

Do check out the Chinese BBQ stall( called the meeting place ) which opens till 1030 pm - their sambal stingray looks really delicious 😊!

1st corner stall. Can never missed it. Nasi Padang - My all time FAV. From savory Assam Fish to authentic Sotong Hitam, kumpung Begedil to old school Kepek Ayam and of course a must have Sambal Belacan. Not forgetting a plate of green vege Popeyes's Sayur for a complete luncheon. Sedap! Sedap!

Generous portion of fries.
Sunny side up, crunchy toast bread, baked beans, coleslaw, chicken chop, pork chop and lamb chop.
Covered with savoury sauce.

Texture-wise, it was rather tough to bite into and as it was not boneless, made the cutting process harder. The portion here was great though, with 2 pieces of cutlet, fries, coleslaw, baked beans and a slice of toast.

I had a good catch of two rolls of CCF(s) with just a dollar. Tasted really fresh and springy! This probably will be a better choice for your morning fix!

I'm really thankful for the existence of this traditional dish although it's not originated in Singapore. But I'm sure it's one of our local's favorite ☺️

Dedicated to #SG50!

This is dinner. ❤️

Fish Congee was good, but waiting time was almost 20mins (was warned by the Uncle beforehand). Costs about $4 for that bowl with additional egg. Would recommend for those who are in the area and don't mind the wait.
