A citrus fruit tart to complement the other chocolate option I got, this was a choice I didn’t regret. Imagine an ordinary looking lemon tart with its looks elevated and made more sophisticated with gold flakes and whatnot. Presentation by d9 for a lemon tart is once again infallible. Though the meringue was so soft that the biscuit broke it (as pictured), I really am not complaining. Flavour? Not disappointed at all. The lemon curd was soft and tangy. The meringue not too sweet at all. Homemade crust melts in your mouth together with the lemon curd. Absolutely loved this.

Always intrigued at how beautiful d9 cakery makes their sliced cakes. They’re beautiful, and taste even better. This royal hazel slice was decadent and rich with its luxurious Gianduja chocolate. The crispy feuilletine gave a great crunch at the bottom, balancing out the overall rich sweetness the cake offered. The gold finish on the top chocolate piece elevated the aesthetic of this cake - making the cake too beautiful to want to eat!
On a related note, the flavours of this cake reminded me of Rive Gauche Patisserie’s Guanaja cake. And in their own right, I think both are delicious.

My first Work from Hotel ☺️ Very worth it for the price!

With the Work From Hotel Package [$30.40] you can choose either a lunch set or breakfast set.

There’s also free Wifi all day and you don’t need to constantly log in. You can stay from 9am (or 10am) until 5pm. I was there till 7pm because of my work hours. The lights get extremely dim from 6pm onwards - kind of like almost sitting in the dark. The table is a little low but very spacious... The table next to the wall has little cubbies and charging points on an extension. Way more roomy, would recommend.

I opted for breakfast since I’m kind of a hotel breakfast person - I went with the Breakfast at Hilton which consisted of free flow water, coffee or black tea, one breakfast main of scrambled eggs, Danish pastry (which looks more like two croissants), hash brown and two rather bouncy sausages. The juice options were apple/orange, I went with orange. I wish there were more tea options, rather than just very strong black tea. The breakfast also came with pork bacon and a small amount of baked beans. There was also a bowl of corn flakes with milk. Soya milk is available too.

There is a selection of many assorted and reasonably priced cakes at D9 Cakery. We shared a Pear dessert and Carrot Cake which they’re famous for.

The Pear contained pear cubes, creme caramel tea infused mousse, valrhona inspiration yuzu chocolate and almond sponge. The carrot cake was on a dense side but good for sharing!

Think this was a pretty good experience overall! :) I managed to get my work done and have productive discussions albeit the minor distractions of neighbouring diners’ conversations within earshot.
