Don't think you can find many places offering rum cakes now. Mont Do'r used to be my fav. Dino's version is good!

Cakes here cheap but serving small and taste wise average. Eclair was nice. The cafe is always quiet which is a plus

Sugar roll with no coating @ $1

I have zero resistance to roll cakes and had to get one when I saw it in the display. The sugar roll is their signature and supposed to be melt in the mouth. Went for the one without the sugar coating and quite glad about it as it's alr quite sweet. But it's really soft and has got a very good texture.

Lots of other pastries and cakes here too, will be back for other stuff next time!

The change of hands in the various F&B concepts along upper Thomson road has been significant. Running along these pathways at 10 years old I remember only our favourite chicken rice, Thai food at e-sarn, korean food at parkers and the former Kim family restaurant; then prata for anytime of the day/ night. As I grew older, brunch at habitat became a thing and soon after we see the former Pacarama and one man coffee trodding along.

I am glad the mainstays still remain - just like the nostalgic sugar rolls at Dino, so homely and my favourite even as a kid. These 90cents rolls have an irreplaceable value that far outweigh their monetary worth. Today I snag the last box of scones on the payment counter, having zero recollection of tasting Dino’s scones. They were served re-heated and a bite had me sold. These were soft enough instead of being rock hard like the poor ones I had a month ago at TWG. Very close to my usual from Duke Bakery - reminding me that expensive doesn’t always mean better.

It really is a well. The cake isn't v fluffy because it needs to be firm to hold the generous amount of durian paste. The taste was not bad too. Quite impressive considering some places that charge twice as much can't deliver something as decent as this

I must admit that I am silence reader and social media freak.. i have never write on any reviews or share any photos or even thoughts of all my visits but selfishly I prefer to read on others.. yes I am those kind.. #nojudgement I would like to creat my only exception here as the staffs from Dino not just are super friendly and warm, they were able to go beyond their limit after knowing i was desperate for a birthday cake for my daughter’s school celebration.. something came up very last min at home therefore we had to resort to organising this on Wed PM for a Fri AM celebration.. i called up a few bakeries around no one is willing to entertain my request. My search engine returned ‘Dino’ as one of the results but when I tried to look them up on google, burpple etc. there wasnt much comments and most are quite dated. I tried to call up Dino but decided to just head down and give them a try first time on Thu AM. Just with a leap of faith, finally i got a positive outcome! It was not a surprise to me that they were at first rejecting my order as the chef cannot commit to such late order esp. for a not-so-simple rainbow big cake.. i believe this has to credit to their homely and full of 有情味 motto as a old brand family-run business.. the lady helped me push the chef to agree to my order exceptionally.. It maybe a small matter to most, but I am totally moved for them saving me and allowing my daughter to have her 1st bday party in school successfully! And look at this! It was a beautiful and superbly delicious and full of heartfelt sweetness cake.. i will definitely patron this store by returning with more visits and orders in future..

6 puffs for 8.50. would be better if the taste of durian is stronger. i think they mix the durian flesh with cream! it felt like eating durian ice cream when it came out of the chiller and i kinda of like it. 😂

Flaky crust - checked
Tasty filling - checked (chicken meat wasn't very tender but hey for $2.50 this is good enough)
A filling afternoon tea option yumz

Portion is rather small for me personally and i feel the gravy could be stronger. Overall 2.5/5 rating.

The cake texture is soft as well. You might think this piece of cake cost like 5-6 dollars. However, it only costs 3 dollars. A 3.5/5 rating from me.

If you love coconut and butter cream this $1.80 goodness is just right for you! Sandwiched between two moist sponge layers is coconut buttercream along with coconut flakes on top

It's pretty damn good and all this goodness only cost me $3!

Loved the moist cake sponge that surrounded the durian creme goodness! The durian aroma wasn't overwhelming but enough to make you want more!
Their sugar rolls are also pretty legendary!

No you don't need to spend like $8 for a moist, fluffy and generously filled DURIAN CAKE when you can get them at just $3 at Dino's!

We had this on our way back because @sushirosingapore SOLD OUT LAST EVENING. And this cake was so yummy I bought more back home!

Thanks @cheltton for the recommendation! ☺️
