Every time I went to East Coast Langoon, I always craving for oysters omelette. Pair the dish with a Thai coconut water to ease the heatiness.

I would say this stall is well maintained as the owner quite aware of the cleanliness and they use a lil amount of starch to make an oyster omelette.

The edge is crisp and the oysters tasted fresh. However, I prefer starchy version of omelette and slightly bigger plump oysters to hit the shiokness!

Both stalls are from east coast lagoon and the thought of coming here always brings me excitement. Here, the Sambal is the star! And it has been consistent throughout these years! Its spicy/savory/sweet profile really stands out and when paired with the stingray and rice, it’s where the magic happens!πŸ‘πŸ½

This humble stall has been serving for more than 20 years and despite its consistent queue, it has always been able to fly off the radar and yet still deliver quality plates of oyster eggs! Met with the secondary school ladies (feels old πŸ˜†) at East Coast Lagoon Food Centre! We wanted so many different types of food so I burppled a bit! Thanks to the burpplers and tastemakers who has contributed! 😬
Oyster Omelette $5 (#01-44) Hougang Or Jian. Just beside the stingray and crayfish place! So wanted to try the other recommended stall but man, the Q was too long. Can’t wait on a hungry tummy πŸ˜†
Satay, 20sticks/ chicken&mutton each. So tender& juicy! (#01-55) no need to worry about standing there and Q because as soon as they take your order, you will be issued with a buzzer. So you can go on your order spree to other stalls and just wait for your satay to be ready! How nice 😍
Butter Garlic Crayfish. (#01-43) Succulent pieces, they do not cheat your feelings. I was told that this is the best flavour! $20 (Small) for 3 whole crayfishes 😜
Sambal stingray. (#01-43) $15 (Medium) Very firm and tender. Sambal sauce was really solid and packs a punch! Best stingray I have had 😍😍
Bbq Prawns @$2.50 each, 5 for $10. Fresh and firm with that good old bbq smell and flavour πŸ˜›
Bbq Chicken Wings $9. Old school must-order. Yums!
All was good and we were so damn full, sinful but we don’t care. 🀣🀣 We enjoyed a good meal and a good walk after. (need to burn off some calories 😏)

Here, the oysters are not the biggest but what makes this plate stand out is the way the eggs taste. They are definitely the most tasty eggs I ever tasted in a orh luak dish and the eggs to corn starch ratio is nearly 10:2! Haha! Yup, the corn starch/flour at most orh luak can get out of hand and that’s why I think this cook never allow it to happen but instead focus on the crispy/fluffy texture and the savory taste of the eggs!πŸ‘πŸ½

Song Kee Fried Oyster wasn't open yet so I had to settle for this. Big mistake. Swimming in stale oil, the overly starchy mass was heavy on the palate, whilst elsewhere the oysters were not only pitifully tiny, they also verged on tasting almost off. Possibly the worst oyster omelette I've had.

Nothing beats sitting down to a satisfying dinner after a long day of exploring Singapore, so make plans to visit this hawker option in the East. Come nightfall, East Coast Lagoon Food Village bustles with activity β€” hawkers are whizzing through the dimly-lit maze of tables with piping hot dishes, tables are covered with plates of food and empty clam shells and there's laughter all around. Start with the easier orders: Charcoal BBQ Chicken Wings ($1.30) from Ah Hwee BBQ Chicken (#01-14) and Satay (skewered meats)($0.70, minimum 10 sticks) from Haron 30 Satay (#01-55). Choose to have the latter in three different proteins β€” chicken, mutton or beef and be sure to add on a dumpling of compressed rice (Ketupat, S$0.50), to dip into the lusciously rich peanut sauce. Then, head to Stingray Forever BBQ Seafood (#01-43) to secure a BBQ Stingray (from $12) for your table. The large slice of stingray is slathered generously with fiery sambal sauce before grilling it in a banana leaf to give it its distinctive smoky flavour. Add a squeeze of lime over the fish before tucking in! For more dishes, venture off to find the Oyster Omelette (from $4) from Song Kee Fried Oyster (#01-15) and the Black and White Carrot Cake (from $4) from Lagoon Carrot Cake (#01-40) β€” both come highly recommended by our Burpple community.

Popiah from #01-40 and oyster omelette from Song Kee. Quite deserted cos I went at 3pm. It was far too hot to eat but I did notice that the oyster omelette was not oily. I also enjoyed the vinegary chili sauce.
