This was super highly raved about a couple of years back and fast forward today, it's one of the few remaining shops in the foodcourt of cineleisure that has some sort of activities still going around. Came here without a clue on what I wanted because I simply wanted to pass time while waiting for the rain to stop and what better way to pass time than to eat? It was pretty empty, without any queue when I came so I got the staff's full attention. Was recommended the Best of Both Worlds which is Fish and Chips in 2 sauces: Salted Egg and Chilli Crab, along with fries and coleslaw.
Reasonably priced as per how a Western Stall would in a food court, the food was surprisingly good! Fried to a crispy, golden brown, you can hear how crunchy it is with every slice of the knife. The fish was so moist and tender on the inside, they easily pulled apart without much tugging. The chili crab sauce was my preferred condiment of the 2, spotting the signature sweet and spicy flavour. Salted Egg was, well, how you expected it to be with nothing much to shoutabout. I must say, the fish itself was rather tasteless and without the sauce, they might not have been as tasty. Overall, still a pretty decent meal!
It is not very common to find mentaiko pasta in foodcourts, and even less common to have it come looking like thisπ The Mentaiko Pasta with Grilled Mentaiko Salmon ($10.90) is served with a nice slab of salmon that is soft and moist on the inside and covered in torched mentaiko sauce on the outside. The al dente pasta is cooked in a creamy mentaiko sauce that can be quite jelak after a while, but thatβs also because I generally prefer oil-based pasta to cream-based pasta. Having said that, this is still pretty tasty and I polished my plate clean!
Crispy chicken cutlet with choice of 2 sides at SGD7.90. Nice western food at good value.
Crispy Fish Fillets and choice of 2 sides at SGD7.90. Fries and Coleslaw are delicious too. Pricing is quite reasonable for a western dish in a food court.
This is an awesome combination. Mentaiko pasta was creamy yet not too jelak. Lobster was great for the price.
This was part of a promotion costing $15.90 if Iβm not wrong. Great price.
Lobster was great, easily to peel off the shell. Fries were crispy. However the steak was a tad tough.
Lobster was great! This cost $26.
Lobster was easy to peel off the shell, flesh was well cooked and matched with the sauces provided. They had a variety of choices for sauces, and chilli crab sauce was great, though a tad spicy.
Loved the fries, crispy. Fish was a tad too oily. Coleslaw was decent though.
Portion is quite good.
Renowned for their salted egg and chilli crab Fish & Chips, this was probably the more recent flavour that they came up with just last year (or maybe I just didnβt see or know about it).

The fish was crispy on the outside and quite succulent on the inside. As a cheese lover, I wished the sauce was more cheesy π.
Best of Both Worlds ($13.80) have two fish & chips dipped in both salted egg sauce and curry sauce. The side dish include fries and coleslaw. I found that curry sauce is a bit spicy for me but salted egg is not bad too and up to standard. It's been a long time never eat fish & chicks for long time since last year at Ang Mo Kio Outlet.
The chicken cutlet barely have any meat. 90% skin and batter. The pasta is just a cream base pasta. No salted egg Yolk at all. This is a huge disappointment. For a $9.90 meal, you get such a standard. If you really wanna eat, go to the amk outlet instead. The quality there are much better.
Fried fish and spaghetti cost me $10.50 only and the food portion is quite big. Taste not bad. My friend's fish and chips with lobster looks good. Originally there should be a long waiting time as of what my friend told me but we went there at a late timing so there isn't any queue anymore. My friend love their fish and chips a lot as she came here quite a lot of times.
Very crispy fish & chicken batter on the outside, but super bland meat inside. The cheese pasta is like cold salad so if youβre thinking of mac and cheese, donβt get this Side. The serving for Onion Rings were only 5 meagre pieces. The fries are good though. ($15.90)

Love the chicken cutlet here. It was crispy and huge!! The spaghetti was also well-cooked. The only thing i didn't really like about this dish was the salted egg yolk. It was bland. I could barely taste the salted egg yolk. It would have been better if the salted egg yolk was thicker and richer. Other than that, I really love this dish! Definitely better than the Best of Both Worlds which i had the last time i was here!!!
The lobster is not to my liking but the salted egg is. Really subtle flavours. But a bit overpriced i think.

Two battered fish, one with chilli crab sauce and the other with salted egg yolk sauce. It comes with thick cut fries, a side (I chose onion rings and my bf chose cheesy pasta), and supposedly tartar sauce but I think we got the Mayonnaise?
Anyways, I think this is a little overhyped. The chilli crab sauce was not bad and I think it complemented well with the fish. The salted egg yolk sauce, on the other hand, was very mild which I didn't like. I think the sauce could have been better if it were to be thicker. I love salted egg yolk, and this is sadly, not enough.
As for the two sides we've chosen, onion rings were a little different in texture but they tasted okay to me. The cheesy pasta was bad. It tasted like cold pasta with dried-up cheese sauce. It would have been better if they had hot cheese sauce drizzled over the pasta.
Ask me if I'll buy Best of Both Worlds again? Nope.
But I may return to try the others. Never judge a stall based on one dish. Plus, they've got quite good reviews online. I guess they deserve a second chance???
I decided to splurge a little and ordered the Fish & Lobster (Cheese Topping) set from Fish & Chicks. If you think the portion appears rather scanty, I will say you're not totally wrong. Otherwise, the mean price is most likely attributable to the presence of a lobster. This was filling and satisfying. It comes with some golden fries which are a lot crispier than they look, as well as a dollop of pale green wasabi mayo.
Couldn't scrape a lot of the lobster meat, but for what I'd yielded, it was a good chunk of it. And while it wasn't the freshest, it was an immense pleasure to have with the melted cheese. Nothing much to point out about the Salted Egg Fish & Chips, except that I'm glad the amount of sauce (which was leaning towards the sweeter side) I got was generous. π
This place has come quite a long way, and I do see it having a fair bit of longevity. If they wish to prolong that, they have to make their products and promotions a lot more visible to people. All good things deserve some form of recognition, right? (7.3/10)
First time trying out Fish and Chicks after watching some reviews on YouTube and if you want a decent fish and chips that is not so pricey, you can give Fish & Chicks a try. Although the fries is quite soggy, it's still edible. They allow you to choose your side dish and I had the mash potato. Would rate a 3/5 star for this dish. Those working around town areas can give this place a try π
Both the fries and onion rings were cold, only the fish was served hot and crispy but unfortunately the meat itself was tasteless.
