Rich and intense goma (black sesame) mousse with layers of fragrant goma crumble and sponge.

Amongst the cafes that carry matcha drinks and desserts in Singapore, I have to say Hvala is top notch. These desserts are beautifully crafted, with different level of flavours nested in each of them. The richness of the tea is something you won’t fail to miss. While the price of $8.80 is steep, it’s becoming a common price point for such little bites.

creamy genmaicha w soft cake in the middle in a buttery tart shell with crispy rice crispy like things sprinkled on top. not overly sweet and a good dessert to share as cream may get jelat. enjoy the bitter notes to this dessert thanks to the genmaicha and the azuki red bean core added sweetness. rly love hvalas buttery tart shells especially.

Matcha Latte ($6.80) was quite milky and smooth texture after shaking before opening the bottle. I felt not that strong taste for sweet (less sweet) and bitter for Matcha Latte.

Hojicha (roasted tea) ($6.80) was quite bitter and thick texture after shaking before opening the bottle. I felt strong bitter aftertaste (unsweetened) for Hojicha Cold Brew Tea.

This year they released new cake series before circuit breakers started. Genmaicha Petit Gateau ($8.80) got much light green tea aftertaste and quite sweet aftertaste due to azuki (red bean). It's best to share cake with your family during tea break time. They like for this cake a lot and preferred to Hojicha / Genmaicha / Goma Petit Gateau than this.
