Throwback post - Tried their chicken chop version as well. A wholesome and fine option when one is craving for western food
Not sure what is the name though since signboard is AMK 711 Hainan Western while Chef Recipe is reflected when I scan QR code to pay

π Spicy Laksa Ramen
πMr Ramen
π K88 Kopitiam @ Chinatown (@k88kopitiam)
π° $7.90
When I ordered this, I was fully expecting to be served a bowl of typical laksa but no, this is ACTUALLY laksa ramen.
The laksa broth is really thick with a strong coconut milk fragrance, so good. The noodles are ramen noodles and theyre stretchy and chewy. Theres also an egg and cha siu to complete it.
For the price I think I'd rather get a normal bowl of laksa but this is seriously great.

K88 Coffee House beside the Chinatown Complex has recently revamped their space, and also completely changed their food stalls selection as well.
One of the new stall would be this ramen stall, serving ramen and rice bowl.
I want something strong so I gotten this spicy laksa. The laksa tasted spicy and addictive, as they used laksa paste and coconut milk; with some special ingredients added.
Sadly the ramen egg was a bit sour when I eat it.
π Truffle Ramen

Truffle ramen at a coffeeshop... whut. Was super fascinated when I walked past Mr Ramen at K88 Kopitiam in Chinatown, so I had to try it. I've had my fair share of hella disappointing truffle dishes, so I was kinda expecting this one to disappoint me too.
Thankfully it didn't, else I woulda rioted. The truffle taste in this is STRONG!!!! There's truffle oil in the soup, PLUS a dollop of truffle paste thing. If you love truffle, you def wont be disappointed by this ramen.
It could be a little overwhelming for those who dislike strong tastes or truffle, but if you're a truffle fanatic like me, this is one of the strongest truffle dishes I've had. Albeit its slightly chemical-y but for the price I wouldn't expect them to whip out actual truffles.

Value for money considering the portion but the roast meat was dry. Would return for the roast duck.
Decent coffee shop western food
The best part is the broccoli! They grilled it to perfection, so rare to have that at a coffee shop!
Interesting dish - a welcome change! Very yummy but wld like more veggies. Price: $6
Do look out for the revamped @k88kopitiam at 5 Banda Street when looking for all in one hawker delights!
Will be going back for the thick and flavourful Curry Chee Cheong Fun that is paired with roast meat or char siewπ
Familiar to many, there is the Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo Mee stall with their noodle set and fried bean curd followed by 639 Roasted, which in my opinion, was one of the highlights of the meal. Known for their 3 Treasure Rice Set which comes with char siew, roasted pork belly and roasted duck, they have another great dish in the form of the Curry Roasted Duck Noodle, and what stood out the most is the thick and creamy coconut curry that is slurp-worthy comforting.
In this coffeeshop, you can also get Western options from Chef Recipe with signature dishes such as Kurobuta pork and grilled chicken chop, and even a Japanese ramen stall, Mr. Ramen, for their modern take on the Truffle Ramen. Vegetarians or flexitarians can also get their fill of food from Ju Fu Yuan Vegetarian Delights which serve many local and familiar dishes such as laksa, lor mee and mee siam. A coffeeshop is not complete without having a stall selling one of our national dishes, chicken rice and that is where Chicky Fun comes in to fill that gap, together with Xin Lai Lai Tze Char with their wide variety of stir-fry dishes and sharing plates that includes the King Crab Pao Fan. Lastly, ride along the K-wave with GAO Korean Cuisine with Korean-inspired food such as Chicken Leg Rice Box and Army Stew Ramen.

I have tried sausages with the normal hot dog buns but they don't meet my taste expectations. The only buns that I would say can match up with fresh Gourmet sausages would be these onion buns (SGD1 each ) . 2 buns sliced across in the centre and warmed up in a pre heated oven for 2 mins will cause your home to smell of buttery and "onion-y" goodness.
Though this place has been spoken more for its sausages, I'd often get only the onion breads ( which are made strictly according to Erich's own recipes in a central kitchen ) and pair up with fresh sausages that I would get from Gourmet meat stalls which I would cook at home .
Dining at the last sausage kiosk before the equator! Haha what a fancy marketing tag line for a not-so-humble sausage kiosk situated slightly off the heart of Chinatown. Had their bratwurst set comprising of a handmade pork sausage, mash and some yummy sauerkraut. Not the cheapest for a hawker setting but hey, it's afterall the last sausage kiosk before the equator.
super yummy. good Thai food stall in Chinatown ππΌππΌ my fav basil minced chicken with rice & egg. π
