More Reviews of good food at La Nonna (Namly Place)

The food here is Italian fare done well and we enjoyed the #smokedsalmonpizza that was a generous size (we had to takeaway some home). It came with lots of smoked salmon that went well with the mozzarella, capers and fresh rocket. The tomato linguine pasta with tender crab meat had a flavorful tomato cream sauce and was hearty & satisfying.
โš ๏ธ #lanonna has an amazing 1-1 lunch deal for pizza/ pasta/ mains from Monday to Saturday, 12-2.30pm, making it a value-for-money option for Italian food

Calamari is a bit too oily and i wished it to have a salty batter. La Nonna pizza is pretty tasty! Loved the juicy and tender asparagus on it.
Linguine somehow was lacking in some flavour to make it wholesome.. salt? Garlic? Parsley? But was pretty pleased that they were not stingy on the crab meat in it.
Pappardelle (Italian version of a super long rendition of mee hoon kuey) was only given a 6/10 by @shazech

This didnโ€™t appeal to me at all due to the lack of meat ingredients. Fortunately, I have misjudged. This signature Truffle pizza from La Nonna is so good. Strong aroma and taste from generous spread of black truffle.
Drop by during weekday lunch hours to enjoy 1 for 1 promotion on all main courses.
Also, if you are pasta lover, try their crab linguine in tomato creamy sauce, another must order dish!

I have been a fan of their vegetarian pizzas ever since I was 17! And I'm a non vegetarian btw. They have such a warm and homely vibe as well!

The rack of lamb is the Rolls Royce cut, it's the prime cut & one better order it Medium, any temperature above medium is a Crime.
Cooked to the right doneness, the lamb smell is quite subtle, juicy & tender. However there are much better lamb dishes out there. ๐Ÿ˜‹

ACAMASTHOUGHTS๐Ÿ’ฎ: Understand, when you eat meat, that something did die. You have an obligation to value it - not just the sirloin but also all those wonderful tough little bits.
I would like to see people more aware of where their food comes from. I would like to see small farmers empowered. ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป

Another great pasta from La Nonna. They were so generous with the tender chicken slices, sun-dried tomatoes and garlic (loads and loads) that every mouth was loaded with its ingredients and flavour. I liked how the garlic was in big chunks instead of being chopped finely, as it gave more texture to the dish. Thumbs up! ๐Ÿ‘

Compared to its Holland Village outlet, La Nonnaโ€™s Namly location is a little out of the way, but being off the beaten path means youโ€™re likely to be away from crowds โ€” perfect for couples who fancy sharing quiet conversation over a bottle of wine (from $12 a glass/ $58 a bottle). Even if you donโ€™t drive, the restaurant is still fairly accessible thanks to the new Downtown Line. Alight at Sixth Avenue station and romance your date with a 15-minute sunset stroll to dinner. Like its name suggests, La Nonna (which means The Grandmother in Italian) serves up hearty Italian comfort food โ€” think generous salads, wood-fired pizzas and hearty pastas. The Caprese ($18), buffalo milk mozzarella with tomatoes and pesto, and Carpaccio ($19), a salad of thinly-sliced beef tenderloin with shaved parmesan, are both foolproof options to get the appetite going. If you are not a big eater, start by sharing the signature La Nonna Pizza ($23), a winning combination of cheese, asparagus, black truffle and a perfectly cooked runny egg, befor moving right on to the pastas. Both the Linguine with Crab meat and Chili in Tomato Cream Sauce ($28) and Rigatoni with Braised Oxtail Ragout ($25) are delicious proof that when it comes to Italian food, classic flavours work best. Linger over sweet nothings and La Nonnaโ€™s excellent tiramisu ($12). There are more alfresco indoor tables so make a reservation in advance if you must dine in air-conditioned comfort.

Ambience: Cosy and charming
Price: Avg $100 per couple

A truly exotic experience for your taste buds. Neither one of my three friends can really accept the unique taste. Recommended for the adventurous gourmet-seeker who doesn't mind trying out new tastes.

The pasta was well cooked, and the veal was tender. The sauce was creamy with a hint of truffle. Personally, I felt that the truffle aroma could have been stronger. But overall it was still really rich and flavourful. Although it was cream-based, it wasn't too heavy, and the portion was just right. Should give it a try!

Their signature pizza which bears their name; it certainly did not disappoint. It is topped with tomato, mozzarella, parmesan, asparagus, egg, and last, but definitely not least, black truffle; who can resist truffle? Having an egg in the centre is not new but they do it perfectly here. The egg is runny and goes really well with the pizza. The truffle adds a delicious aroma while the asparagus gives it a bit of crunch. The crust is thin, light, and crunchy and not dense at all. Good for sharing! This was at the branch at Holland V

This was much better than the other pizzas on the menu. The cook really didn't skimp on the smoked salmon, and the creamy mayonnaise contrasted with salty salmon beautifully. Just thinking about it makes me drool again ๐Ÿคค...
