From Lai Heng Fried Kuay Teow.
炒粿条
Savoury yet not overwhelming, moist & appealing.
Nice every mouthful of flat noodles & yellow noodles combination with the dark sauce.
This was a large size.
Wallet friendly prices.

Quick fried, from the popular stall, ordered the big size $3.
Savoury yet not too heavy, cooked cockles hiding inside, slice lup cheong added the chewy texture, sweet dark soy sauce and few greens.

Closed on Monday.

📍Lai Heng Fried Kuay Teow.
Shunfu Mary, #02-20.

This fried kway teow is so well balanced and speaks of a high degree of competency from the chefs .

Neither too wet nor too dry and with just a right balance of the sweet and savoury. The noodles were neither too soft nor too hard.
Importantly , it wasn’t too oily .

This is one of the best fried kway teows for me.
Slippery , slithery , addictive goodness.

On the mark for the next Michelin maybe ?

Remember to add on that terrific otah - I wouldn’t say they complement the noodles the best so maybe go get a toasted bun from the de fai toast and coffee stall within the same Hawker.

Located at Level 2 of Shunfu Mart, you will be greeted by the long queue at the stall. We arrived at about 12.10pm on a weekday and it only took us 15 mins to get our CKT. There are 2 sizes available ($2.50 and $3). We each had the big plate and wow, they aren't stingy with their ingredients (Chinese sausages, fish cakes, plump cockles)! The CKT is moist and not oily (hence no wok hei taste), and it's easy for one to finish the entire plate of wholesome without feeling jelat. We didn't taste the pork lard either (which I think is a pity).

Just in case you are one of those who dislike beansprouts, the uncle may just turn you down (rather impatiently due to the long queue) because they mass cook the CKT. The only requests you can possibly make would likely be no cockles, no chili, takeaway or the size.

Glad we shared this! Was pretty rich and sweet this time
