Can’t stop thinking about the delectable, photogenic pastries at Lee‘s Confectionery.

Located in a largely quiet area in Jurong East, the cafe exudes chill and minimalist vibes. Most of their pastries are a blend of East meets West as seen in the ingredients that are used. They are rotated seasonally and new creations are introduced from time to time. Even on my second visit I had yet to try the famous DALE matcha cake.

TART was essentially a refreshing take on the classic tarte au citron. Using an almond tart shell, it’s filled with lime cream and a spongy lime almond cake, instead of the obligatory lemon curd. Topped with whipped white chocolate ganache, it provides a sweet ending to the rather sharp and sour taste of lime.

What’s good about the tart here is that it isn’t unbearably sour. This makes it a refreshing treat for dessert lovers as many tarte au citron I had can be exceptionally sour. Credit must be given for the painstaking effort that’s put by the team into making and plating each dessert for each diner certainly puts in on par with many fine dining establishments.

Any dessert lover would definitely fall in love with this place. It’s worth the detour.

We had the Koji, which was a delightful combination of cream, coconut and lychee surrounded by a great crispy crust. The best part is always watching Chef prepare the desserts in front of you - an honor!

Tried the matcha cake and the dark chocolate cake (forgot the name) but both were really good 😋 Presentation was so pretty too! The cafe is minimalistic, the perfect place for afternoon tea ☺️

The cafe itself is dressed in an elegant white decor, and their pastries are all gorgeously plated (and not in the trite cafe style to pander to youngsters).
This Madu ($8) was elegantly rested upon a bed of honey delicately drizzled in the shape of honeycombs. They beautifully layered the pastry with light airy cream, caramel and honeycomb. It delivered a lighter and more balanced sweetness, but not cloying. The airy cream and the crunchy base also mixed for a pleasant texture.
I've tried many cake stores in SG and few came close to Nesuto's standard. I might have found another favourite.


Westies, gather your pals for a chill afternoon of tea and pastries at this dessert cafe near Chinese Gardens MRT. Start with Jiao ($8), a moist banana sponge cake with cinnamon and oat crumble. Dale ($8) is a matcha-lover's delight, with matcha sponge, matcha mouse, and passionfruit jam. Accompany your cakes with their Berries Merah tea ($4) or coffee (from $4) made from quality beans from Tiong Hoe Specialty Roasters.

Must try for those with sweet tooth. But I personally like the lime tart which I expected it to be very sour but it turned out to be just nice. Do drop by if you are around the vicinity!
