Lixin opened in the takashimaya food court & thereā€™s a promo offer! Canā€™t help but think the noodle doesnā€™t taste as good as before but the crispy lard is still awesome

The original owner has been quietly selling since 1968, but thanks to his son, this brand can now be found across Singapore, and serves a reliable and consistent rendition.
.
Their gravy is a winning combination of fresh pork lard, black vinegar, tomato ketchup, and chili paste, resulting in addictive sweet salty sour savoury flavours, coating each noodle strand.
.
Their fish cake and fish balls are made with fresh yellowtail amberjack fish, no fillers, meaning a smaller size but more springy chew, with light sweet savoury flavour.
.
The succulent her giao / fish dumpling is slippery with sweet savoury notes, while the unique fish roll stuffed with carrot and cucumber has a visual appeal.
.
A garnish of crisp spring onions with vegetal sweet flavour completes this addictive dish.

...I felt like I was eating pasta bolognese.
A good fishball noodles shouldnā€™t have to hide underneath excessive and heavily coated sauce.

Unfortunately, this fishball Meekia noodles ($5.50) was.

6 fishballs were nice and bouncy, but no to the over-sauced, clumpy mee kia noodles.

We noticed a snake queue at this food stall (Food Opera Ion orchard) Friday lunch. šŸ We suspect that it might be so tasty that people are willing to queue so we come at early lunch (11 am) Wednesday for a takeaway.

We tried their mee pok fishball noodle and itā€™s so delish! Mee pok is proportionately coated with the chili sauce and lard. The 6 yellowtail fishballs are so bouncy. We canā€™t say this is a hidden gem but we learn that they have been around since ā€˜60s and used to be in Toa Payoh.

We are quite curious for their fish dumpling and fish cake. Hope to try them next time!! šŸ¤©

Signature mee pok ($6.80)

Comes with a mix of fishballs, fish cake and fish dumpling. Noodles were abit dry I had to add a spoon of soup in. Requested for no ketchup as I found it too sweet previously. This is better. Chilli is very red but not as potent as it looks. Overall a good eat

At Changi City Point outlet. Quite the standard taste of bcm. The fishballs were too soft and soup was tasteless thou.
