If it's steak you're in the mood for, this cosy 10-seater spot in Serene Centre (it shares the space with Sugarhaus) is perfect for the whole steakhouse experience at budget-friendly prices. It's certainly found a fan in Burpple Tastemaker Emily S, who has raving reviews of the meat. There are only two steaks on the menu โ the Flat Iron ($22), which is leaner and offers great bite, and the Short Rib ($25), which has lovely marbling and a more decadent mouthfeel. The steaks arrive well seasoned, which warrants the acompanying chimichurri unnecessary, alongside a little bowl of house salad tossed in vinaigrette. Sides are priced at an additional $5 each, but worth the splurge. Consider the juicy Sauteed Thyme Mushrooms ($5) or luscious Guanciale Mac & Cheese ($5). Desserts still aren't stellar, so save your money for something else.
Avg Price: $25 per person

This is our version of mochi. Traditionally this is a dish we can find almost anywhere. The sad thing is now it's hard to find this and such a high standard. Each piece of the muah chee was dip in a dish of fried shallots oil making the muah chee a taste of fried shallots. Really yummy yummy yum yum yum.

The chicken is awesome and it can just be eaten without the sauce!
The sauce is just ok ok for me๐
It's not really spicy to my taste bud.
But overall, the chicken is delicious๐๐

Just opened in the Bedok Reservoir neighbourhood is a new petrol station-themed cafe serving great and very affordable brunch. Staying true to their name and theme, menu items have theme-specific names such as 'Full Tank', 'Fill Me Up' and 'Refuel Pancakes'. Their chill cafe space also allows diners a true refueling experience away from the busy city. Start with the Full Tank ($13.90) or Banana Pancakes ($8.90), and get the White & Black Chocolate Tart with vanilla/ chocolate ice cream for dessert! According to Tastemaker Xing Wei, 'This was literally a slice from chocolate heaven.'
Shove away fast food burgers. This burger was affordable, made fresh upon order and fast! Though you can't customize the doneness of the patty, it was thick and juicy, topped with a big handful of portobello mushrooms (I think...or button hahaha pls excuse me) and cheese. You can add $2.80 (student price) or $3.50 for a meal (fries and a canned drink) and I'd recommend it. The fries had a great flavour on its own so I didn't eat it with ketchup in the end. And they were crisp, and stayed crisp throughout my meal. Yay! My dad's meal was a double original beef burger, and he was very pleased with it too. :)

Asian-American favourite pork patty burger with chilli sauce and asian-slaw.
Salty Bleu cheese, Sweet burnt onion marmalade, bacon atop a mouthwatering beef patty. Try resisting that. For me the Bleu cheese, bacon and grilled onion was gourmet calibre but the beef patty is not better than some others I have in mind. However what was worth mentioning is the walnut raisin buns that held all these goodness together. It is firm enough so you don't end up eating beef patty from your hands!
It's as if air and batter were spun together to weave these exquisite quadrants of crunchy, yet floatily light Belgian style waffles. Such superior specimens deserve a befitting ice-cream, and that big scoop of Kapiti's ultra-creamy fig and honey flavour more than delivered.
It's also thoughtful of Artistry to serve the maple syrup in a tiny jug for customers to control the exact amount of sweetness they prefer. Speaking of maple syrup, they serve the real deal here. Not the fake, too-sweet (and cheaper) liquid that is all too prevalent.
