Ivan's Carbina within a coffeeshop located under a multi-storey carpark cam be easily missed, but its menu offers a variety rarely seen in foodcourt western stalls such as Rosti like this one. A large Rosti nicely seasoned in salt is crispy on the exterior, while the sour cream mediates the starchiness being light and refreshing. Chicken was succulent and tender, though the thick and earthy mushroom sauce is slightly let down by its lukewarm temperature. ($7.80)
While the north is generally not known for spectacular food, this Heng Hua restaurant is a hidden gem in Yishun that not only serves tzechar, but also traditional Heng Hua cuisine that is now hard to find in Singapore. Have a taste on Heng Hua Mee Sua Kou; a dish that was said to be made from leftovers from dinner from the previous day to make this delectable rice vermicelli dish in the past. Also, the Stir-Fried Yam Cubes are a must have for its sweetness and chunky cubes of yam. Easties, you ain't missing out much either as they also operate another outlet along Joo Chiat Road
Hidden gem of sembawang, not accessible without own rides. Crispy outer layer and soft inner yellow onion.
From RoyceMary Cafe, the latest cafe to open at Victory8. Had always wanted to give the Matcha Lava Cake at To-Gather Cafe a try; surprised to find an identical one here so near my home! Moist cake that oozes a dense and rich flavoured Matcha lava when cut which flowed endlessly. Comes with cream at the side, which helps neutralise the tastebuds after the intense sweetness. There is an option to add a scoop of ice-cream at the side if you wish to enjoy your lava cake with ice-cream.
The place is reaaally small like Creamier. Earl grey lavender & honey comb was damn good! Rocher was normal. Also thanks to the grp whom I apparently stole their table unknowingly from, I enjoyed this awesome ice cream and fluffy waffles very much. (cos they moved away, and'd rather take a photo of us than clarify that they were taking the table. Seriously, just speak up..? I don't bite and am probably more afraid of them) ANYHOW, it'd be good if the waffles were a little more crispy! Tasted a little like mcd's hotcakes at one point.
