Enough said, to see such feat. No doubt just order and eat while it's fresh. Salty chai poh matches the chilli sauce. Once a while indulgence.

Bought 12 soon kueh, 6 peng kueh, 6 gu cai kueh, 1 yam kueh, 1 box of pumpkin cake & 2 boxes of yam cake. For my family and my mum’s. Ate some and they are really good! 👍🏻 Skin is so thin, chewy, soft and smooth. Filling is very generous so worth the price $1.30 ea. (cake is $3 ea.) My fav got to be gu cai (chives) & their famous soon kueh! 😋

Usually The Curry Puff we eat is the frozen one. Found this at Tanjong Pagar Hawker Center. The Uncle who is now aged 76 still insisted on handmaking the curry puff. When u are there u have to find & follow the smell. He insisted using fresh ingredient to make the curry puff. Availiable in 2 type Curry Potatoes & Sardine. Uncle Deep Fried the curry puff so that customer can enjoy the puff piping hot.

The 'lad' the stall's name refers to is none other than owner Keith Koh, who studied in London. Together with his dad, the duo serves up British comfort food. Since their move from Serangoon Gardens to the more centrally located Maxwell Market, the menu has also expanded from their initial offering of stews to include more iconic English eats like Bangers and Mash ($8) and a most indulgent Bacon and Chip Butty ($4). As Tastemaker Wei Zhi Chiang says, how can anybody not love the combination of toasted buttered buns, bacon, fried hash brown and a fried oozy egg? There's also the option to add a savoury layer of melted mozzarella cheese — this is certainly not for the faint-hearted. Tastemaker Jean Kao loves the English Fry-Up Platter ($12), which left her gobsmacked with its generous portions and spot-on preparation. In addition to the usual baked beans and sausages, it also includes grilled cherry tomatoes, mushroom and sweet onion relish, and homemade potato hash. As Tastemaker Jean aptly puts it, "this plate would've cost almost twice as much in cafes, and some will not be able to even achieve the same level of awesome". If you're here for lunch, don't miss their Beef Stew ($10) that comes with their much acclaimed, dreamy Yorkshire pudding. You can also enjoy the Yorkshire pudding with vanilla ice-cream for only $3.
Avg Price: $10 per person

The best soy sauce chicken IMO! The stall's name is "Hongkong soya sauce chicken rice & noodles" 香港油鸡面

During my trainee days in the army, I would always look forward to this mouth-watering, sinful plate of Hokkien mee. I remember that my family had just relocated to Toa Payoh, and we were out on a mission to explore the good food around our new house. The first time we came here, we had to wait for more than 30 minutes, but the friendly aunty gave us their name card so that we could call in advance the next time. I thought the mee was good, but didn't think much of it until the following week when I was in camp. Maybe it was the appalling camp food, or the tough training I was under, but I had a sudden, intense craving for this luscious prawn noodles! Needless to say, this plate became my motivation to get me through the many arduous weeks to come. Even now, looking at this picture makes me salivate! Tian Tian Lai (come daily) indeed. #hawkerpedia

Quite a rare find I think. Loads of wok hei in that charred bee hoon ( smoky flavor ) and plump prawns. 😋✨👍

Ordered the roasted duck, roasted pork and char siew. The char siew had so much fatty meat that it felt so sinful with its amazing homemade sauce that tasted similar to the likes of a honey vinegar sauce. Roasted duck was really decent but what really stood out was its roasted pork. The roasted pork skin had such a nice crispy taste to it such that when dipped with the chilli sauce given, it gave me such a great kick! I was also deeply surprised by its wasabi flavored sauce!

Soft tender meat encased between melt-in-your-mouth fat that breaks away with every bite.

Some entries were on this famous Hokkien Mee at Old Airport Road Food Centre, while it was only my first time trying it in our last #hawkerhopping session. On the other hand, this held so many memories for others.

Heard from @juliuslim that the store doesn't operate with a fixed operating hours. He feels like it, he opens. It makes it hard to catch a plate of Hokkien Mee from him. Especially with the long waiting time too!! Nam Sing is the dry kind of hokkien mee with thin bee hoon I usually wouldn't like. I prefer my hokkien mee wet with thick bee hoon 😝 However, this definitely shaken my perception of it with its flavourful broth that the noodles sponged in. I couldn't help myself mouth after mouth. (Despite it being a sharing plate 🙊) Looking forward to more #hawkerhopping adventures tomorrow 🙌

I succumbed to the temptation of my instagram and Burpple feed...

Sinful and rich, the bubbling pot of mee tai mak (silver needle noodles) is rather different from the usual stir-fried and soup version. The noodles were cooked well, slightly chewy but the highlight was of course the flavourful broth. How should you eat it? Mix in the egg with the thick savoury brown gravy then have it together with the cut vegetables and minced meat in every spoonful of noodles! It makes for a great comfort food any time!
