Tender & juicy medium rare steak grilled to perfection for lunch. Crust was slightly charred & Smokey. 300g for us to share & it came with the most amazing chips. I had to ask why were the chips so different from the usual & found out they were tripled cooked?! These chips were steamed, confit and then fried before serving. 🍟 Bearnaise sauce was served by the side.

The wagyu beef is seriously damn tender and succulent. Had a try of their Yuzu Foie Gras Wagyu Beef Bowl ($25.90) and felt that the foie gras wasn't really worth the extra $4 from their next most expensive beef bowl (the Mentaiko Wagyu Beef Bowl). But like I said, the beef will never fail you .

ACAMASTIPS💮:Red Eye Smokehouse offers decent American style BBQ if you're craving for it, well they serve more than 1 style of BBQ namely Taxes, Louisiana, Cajun & etc as I was told. 🖖🏻

Sharing the space with Sugarhaus at Serene Centre (beside the popular Woodlands Sourdough), this 10-seater steakhouse offers a super simple menu of two steak mains, four sides and three desserts. The Shortribs ($25) have more marbling than the Flat Iron ($22), but both are seared till nice and pink in the middle, and tender to the bite. The meats come with chimichurri sauce and a garden salad, but for something more substantial, add on sides ($5 each) like the Sautéed Thyme Mushrooms and Creamed Kale. Interestingly, Burpple Tastemakers Xing Wei Chua and Casey Tan both enjoyed the meat sans sauce, and just with a sprinkle of salt. Based on Burpple community reviews, you may be better off skipping dessert for now. Currently trending on social media, Jade ($10) features a pretty dome of pistachio mousse cake with a strawberry jelly centre, but while it makes a stunning picture, it leaves much to be desired in terms of taste.

Steak rice bowl for $10++
Juicy Beer tenderloin rice bowl compliment with soft boiled egg and pickles.

What is cheekily named the Break-Up Steak ($42.90, because it is good enough to replace your partner...), is one of the stars here at this Upper Thomson restaurant. Cooked to a smoky char, the hearty piece of ribeye (250g) proves to be tender, juicy and everything a good steak should be. It is served sans sauce, so you can taste all its natural beefiness, elevated by a secret housemade rub concocted by chef-owner John. The sides are equally delicious — sweet, caramelised carrots, earthy mushrooms and creamy, comforting mash nicely round up a perfect meal. If you fancy a sweet ending, order the Ultimate Kaya Toast ($6.50), which features rich and silky homemade kaya sandwiched between wafer-thin slices of bread. Ordering breakfast for dessert is an unconventional trick that will certainly reward.

Dining at this Duxton Hill bistro is as close to dining in Paris as you'd probably experience here in Singapore — the tables are cramped and you can listen in on your neighbours' conversation without much effort, but hey, that's part of the charm! Settle down to catch up with a friend (leave the airing of dirty laundry for another time) over a plate of Trimmed Entrecote Steak ($34.90 for 190g). Unlike the version at Les Bouchons, this one comes slathered in gravy. The steak itself is cooked to a perfect medium rare, and is served with golden fries and a walnut green salad. If you'd rather not have the meat drenched in their legendary sauce, ask to have the gravy served separately. The steak is automatically portioned into two; the second portion is brought to you halfway through the meal, so pace yourself. Pro tip: Ravenous? Order the 300g XXL portion at $54.90 instead.

Known for its consistently high standards in food, modern Australian grill Burnt Ends makes our list for this pièce de résistance — the Onglet ($26/100g). Also known as hanger steak, this lesser celebrated cut is known for its big beefy flavour. The version here sees the meat charcoal-grilled to a succulent bite, served with melt-in-the-mouth bone marrow and a robust burnt onion sauce that elevates the beef's delicious smokiness. We recommend that you order it medium rare. A 200g piece is good to share between two diners, so it leaves you space to try other amazing meat-centric plates like the Burnt Ends Sanger ($20) and Beef Marmalade and Pickles ($14). Pro tip: Reservations are a must at this ever popular establishment. Also check if the onglet will be on the day's menu.

For a satisfying steak lunch in the CBD, look no further. Argentinian restaurant boCHINche serves up what we reckon is one of the most value-for-money set lunches. The Prix Fixe Menu offers a choice of two or three courses ($28; $33, includes dessert) with weekly changes to their dish offerings. boCHINche is known for their meats, so we're glad that their ribeye steak is a mainstay. Expect a hearty piece (180g) of tender Argentinian beef seasoned and grilled perfectly, served with wedges and chimichurri mayo on the side. Portions are generous so bring your favourite colleague and get dessert to share. Pro tip: Before you reserve your seat, check their Instagram account (@bochinchesg) for the week's menu.
