Find this softserve kiosk in the basement of Plaza Sing. Get the Charcoal Cheese Japanese Softserve with Okinawa Brown Sugar Boba in Wafer Shell ($6.80) for a rich, savoury-sweet dessert topped with chewy pearls. You don't want to skip out on Matcha Dip ($5.30) here! Think luscious and creamy softserve encased within a hardened matcha shell on a cone. Psst. Watch it defy gravity by flipping the cone upside down!

Gather the gang together for a nice night out in this snazzy diner that took over IZY Dining and Bar. For mains, opt for their Wagyu Truffle Don (from $34) that features a beautiful mess of wagyu sukiyaki, shaved truffles and a slow-cooked egg on top of Nanatsuboshi rice from Hokkaido. Otherwise, go for the Prawn Mee Pok ($15.80) that sees two juicy tiger prawns, minced pork, lap cheung, sakura ebi, and an egg in a thick umami-intense broth. Dessert-wise, the Spiced Chocolate ($10) is a winner — think chocolate, five spice, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon all blended into one delightful concoction.

Note this one down for cheap and good lunches in the East. For strong local flavours, order their Laksa Pasta ($12.90) that comes either in spaghetti or penne and is served with four whole prawns in a thick shrimp and garlic base. Big eaters — the generously-portioned Tenderbest Maggie Ayam Goreng ($8.50) comes with a humongous piece of fried chicken and stir-fried noodles will satisfy! Wash it all down with the sweet and unique Gula Melaka Kopi ($2.20).

Start by sharing their Charcoal Calamari ($15) that is battered in black tempura and seasoned with kaffir lime, red chilli, rooftop herbs and Japanese garlic aioli. For mains, get the Black Cod Saikyo-Yaki ($38) — think black cod marinated in miso, served with sweet potato crisps, sea grapes, ikura, and pulut hitam furikake. For a fancier night out opt for the 6-Course Omakase Menu ($150) where you can look forward snacks, sashimi, robata, sushi, soup and a dessert.

Experience old Hollywood glamour at its finest at this highly anticipated opening— think oil pantings, dim lighting and brass and gold accents. Helmed by Chef Rishi Naleendra (of Cheek by Jowl fame), you can expect you and your belly to have a stellar experience (5-Course: $168++, 7-course: $198++). Burppler Veronica Phua started on a high with their lush and flavourful oysters "swaddled in betel leaf and grilled... luxuriating in a bath of coconut milk and basil oil, and finished with pops of refreshing finger lime". Chef Rishi pays homage to his Sri Lankan heritage in this dish of sweet Australian Marron with Millet cooked two ways.

Drop by this fast food joint in Wisma Atria for burgers and Korean fried chicken. Order the Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger ($19.50) for a well-balanced creamy, buttery avo and crispy bacon combo, sandwiched together with beef patty, cheese and seared onions between potato buns. Also great is their juicy Bulgogi Hotdog (from $11.60), slathered in a special bulgogi glaze and bulgogi mayo, topped with slices of smoked bacon, sautéed sweet onions, parmesan shavings, chopped English parsley and paprika powder. Treat yourselves to their flavourful Truffle Burger ($21) with real wild truffle shavings, truffle puree, and truffle mayo. File this away for breakfast or tea time meetings in Lavender. Think an open concept, with high ceilings and white furnishings with black and brass accents — but serving super affordable local dishes and kopi. Go for the Curry Chicken & Prata Set with Kopi ($6.80) or get their French Loaf with handmade Kaya and Butter Set ($4.50) that comes with a drink and soft boiled eggs. All toast sets come in a generous portion — you might want to share. The kopi is priced affordably from $1.40, for a relaxing cafe experience that won't break the bank!

From the folks behind En Sakaba and Aburi-EN comes a new eggy counterpart in NEX. Joining the souffle trend is their cloud-like Caramel Peach Souffle Pancake ($12.80) that ticks all the right boxes: jiggly, light and perfectly eggy. It also helps that the sweetness levels are customisable, with maple syrup served separately in a jug. Savoury dishes are also available, like the simple but delicious Ultimate Egg Rice ($5.80), the 5-Kind Japanese Omelette Skewer ($8.80) and an Okonomiyaki-style Japanese Omelette with Octopus ($9.80).
