Although a bit on the sweet side, it pairs nicely with the tangy vinegar. The fried dumplings (guotie) were also nicely crisp on the outside without being overly oily or greasy, and filled with a juicy mix of minced pork & chives.

Waited pretty long for this laksa. It had a homely taste and was easy to finish as the soup was not too thick!

Perhaps this would be the most insane waiting time I ever have for a plate of carrot cake. I came here at 6:20am, even before they open at 6:30am and there’s already a few people waiting to order.

I made my order right at 6:30am and was told the waiting time would be 1.5 hours! That’s crazy even coming in early morning.

I see there’s lots of order for takeaway as you see them packing it bag by bag. I literally waited from dark until the sun rise.

Finally at 7:52am I gotten my order! I was so excited by just looking at those cai po given on my plate. I could say the portion definitely very generous and actually good for 2 people to share.

I added the prawn for $5 which given another good texture and taste to the carrot cake. It is definitely worth the wait and know why so many people would want to wait even it is so long.

Heap Seng Leong has been here for ages and I've pretty much condemned for not trying the kopi guyou which is coffee with a slab of butter in it. Yeahh, so if you're coming, that's the magic drink to go for.
At the same time, it is one of the few places to still use charcoal to toast their bread!

The entire coffeeshop and it's striped pyjamas uncle is trapped in a 1980s vibe which allows the place to retain it's old-world charm.

$4.50/serving, with extremely generous serving of wanton noodles and thick slab of chicken cutlet. The cutlet was fried-upon-order, hence you’re assured of a freshly-fried piece of chicken each time you order. The batter was crisp and the chicken was tender and juicy - nothing tough and distasteful. It was pretty addictive and ... a sizeable piece that leaves you really full after some noodles too. Definitely not for someone with a small appetite (advisable to share). Jiji serves this with their special wanton noodles - slightly thicker version than most wanton noodle places that I’ve been too. The thicker noodles soaks up the curry very well; with a springy texture that makes you wanna finish all up even if you’re already very filled up from the cutlet. The curry was a tad more salty than the version from Cantonese Delight, also located in the same hawker, but definitely very yummy too.

It was a pretty good sandwich but we also ordered the Cochon sandwich it was the same bread and ingredients (just the star is different) a bit jelat. I liked the additions of the foie gras but I was expecting it to be like pate styles but it was pan fried in cubes.

If I were to choose, I would choose the cochon sandwich cos I really liked their mustard that came with it. But I’m not the biggest fan of duck around.

Their salads is also the same for all dishes served so things got a bit repetitive.

Overall So France had a nice concept, great service but average food at slightly higher price points compared to other cafes around.

What an amazing decadent treat!! Highly recommend all cheesecake lovers to try! You won't be disappointed at all!!! 😭

This pizza contains roast beef, mozerella and rocket leaves. The meat is thinly sliced and tender, the portion of rocket leaves are generous. You will definitely fulfill your green veggie quota eating this. The only complain is I hardly taste the truffle oil and they can put more cheese. But it's a pretty good pizza to eat. Give it a try

The Orecchiette ($19) really blew my mind 🤯 I rarely spend so much on pasta outside as I feel that I can easily whip it out but wow the depth of flavour... You’ve got to try it out!! So deliciously meaty and creamy! The little bits of sausage provided bursts of flavour and omgggg so shiok to scrap the bits up at the end.

The pizza ($9) was delicious, but i found the crust to be a little too thick. It still maintained a nice crunch though and my partner who is a bread lover LOVED it. The bread itself wasn’t overly oily, the grease mainly came from the cheese and pepperoni, but it was so satisfying.

I would say the Porchetta ($9) was the weakest out of the three dishes pictured. While the meat was moist and the skin was quite crunchy, i’m not sure if it was worth the price tag. I feel like some sio bak that i’ve had were better and cheaper than this. But nearly every table ordered it, i would say it was worth trying but it was not mindblowing.

We’ve ordered the Pistachio Tiramisu ($14, not pictured) as well. Honestly it tasted pretty average, but the thin layer of pistachio made it taste more special. Personally not a fan of cakes with too much cream, so this wasn’t for me.

The bill came out to $60 after GST for 2. Would definitely be back to try more of their pastas and pizzas 🤤

Pork cutlet on top of Japanese rice; thick cut of pork loin that is tender & succulent; taste quite bland itself; batter is thin; drizzled with katsu sauce & egg mayo which would be better if it comes at the side instead of over the rice as the batter gets soggy & felt jelat halfway; rice is soft & chewy; with a soft boiled egg, no oozing yolk..

The popular Hvala did not disappoint! Loved their sweet potato cake with CHUNKS of sweet potato. The drinks were very good too!

This innovative joint keeps their soft serve flavours on rotation; past flavours have included Mango Sticky Rice, Chendol and Oolong Milk Tea! At $7 a cup, or $15 on a hot mochi donut for extra decadence, these swirls of delight are an absolute pick-me-up on a hot day. Grab one of their Matcha Chocolate Mochi Croissants ($4) to go too!
