Swing by this family-run restaurant deep in Kota Damansara for a lovely Nyonya meal. Burppler Thokoh Makan sings high praises of the grub, especially the Ikan Gulai Tumis (from RM26) — fresh fish slices in a fragrant tamarind-based sauce. Also good to share are the Yum Yum Pandan Chicken (RM4.80 per piece), Yum Yum Brinjal (RM12) and the Yum Yum Egg (RM13). They also have two off-menu desserts, Cendol (from RM5) and Tau Foo Fa (from RM5) that are the perfect sweet endings to a flavourful meal.

Yum Yum Brinjal (RM12) - perfectly deep-fried brinjal fries 🍆 that are soft in the middle with a crispy exterior. The brinjal is garnished with what we believe to be he be (dried shrimps), salted vegetables and dried chilli. So so so so good! What's great is that it's never too oily.

The signature Yum Yum Egg is a highlight - tofu topped with minced meat, with surprise runny eggs in the middle.

We quite like Yum Yum's version of pandan chicken - spices were very balanced and chicken was moist and tender.

Hands down, one of the best gulai tumis we ever tried - it is a must order whenever we are. Fish slices were succulent and fresh; the tamarind-based sauce was super aromatic with the perfect balance of sour, salty and spicy. We always order extra rice to go with the gravy. 😂🍚

A mere 10-minute drive away from the main F&B hub is a hidden Nyonya gem that is great for big family dinners. Dive straight for their signatures like the Tamarind Prawns (from RM30), Yum Yum Egg (RM13), Paku Lemak (from RM12) and the Creamy Basil Chicken (from RM16). Seafood lovers, order the Fish Cutlet (from RM7 per 100g) in tamarind fish curry for medley of sweet, sour and spicy flavours. Reservations are highly recommended if you plan on swinging by for dinner, especially on weekends.
