Managed to get a deal from the new Macs’ app game - $1 for this Mala McShaker Fries with any purchase! This was probably the shaker fries I was most looking forward to 😂 Liked that the seasoning isn’t as salty like the classic seaweed version, but it’s also pretty mild. It’s not the kind of flavour that comes right away, its spice and numbness come more towards the end. In mlxg standard, this feels like a 微辣 (mild spice), but I guess its understandable to cater to the masses.
Didn’t get to try these the last time they were launched, but glad I did this time. Definitely prefer them to the original ones for the nice kick in spice!
Love the Hershey series and this is no exception. Rich chocolatey goodness oozes out of the pie crust. Best enjoyed warm
The peach sauce tastes exactly like those artificially flavoured peach tea drinks (you know the Pokka ones)—overly sweet and missing the delicate flavour of fresh peaches. If you're a fan of flavoured peach drinks, you might like this. Otherwise, stick to their Apple Pie. @mcdsg

The Salted Egg Yolk Loaded Fries ($4.10) tasted nothing like salted egg, lacking the savoury heartiness we all know and love. The sauce was flat and far from addictive, so just save your money. There's nothing wrong with putting a twist on popular local flavours, but try to do it right @mcdsg .

Verdict - ok ok. Not sure what the fuss is about.
Think my virgin fast food meal of 2017 just went to the Seoul Spicy Chicken Burger? A little late to try this out when almost everyone in my circle did but this is a pretty satisfying treat — the standard fare with any McDonald's burger but with slaw (don't really understand the inclusion of it though; crunchiness perhaps?) and the spicy Korean sauce which was surprisingly well done for a fast food joint (and made this burger simply just so saucey!) — carries the signature sweetness of Korean gochujang while packing that fiery punch that it wasn't shy about.
PS: The Kimchi Shaker Fries were a little bit off though — felt like it just constantly went downhill as sodium completely takes over, not to mention the Kimchi flavour was also a little hard to detect. Also kudos to the auntie who always end up serving me at this branch (even though I only appear once a semester and she doesn't recognize me) — was waiting for a little longer than usual at the counter for my order and she went to the drinks machine to offer me a cup of cold water; pretty good service at a fast food joint!

Bukit Timah Food Centre was closed for cleaning so went for the quickest option. The burger itself was actually decent for McDonald's standards — satisfyingly crisp and juicy fried chicken with crunchy strips of apple in the apple slaw to bite on which gave it a subtly sweet flavour. The cheese gave it an ample amount of saltiness as well; only thing I wished was for the burger to be less saucey or the mayo to be replaced with something less creamy that would allow the apple slaw to stand out. Not too bad for a promo item on their menu.
I rarely get attracted to McDonald's limited-time specials but this got me intrigued for how surprisingly un-Mac it sounds. Indeed, this wasn't quite as Mac-tasting though the quality can't really run too far off, but worth a try at the very least. Breaded Salmon was a little bland (pretty expected of fried salmon patties), flavoured with the "paella spice mix" which has a very subtle breaded batter with some bell peppers and a little peppercorn for flavour, all quite light on taste as it gets mostly covered up by mayo. Add $0.50 more to upgrade regular fries to Sweet Potato Fries; limp but still naturally sweet without any seasoning and crisply fried in a thin batter. Told auntie at the counter to leave out my soft drink, but she said "You can eat like that meh? It's quite dry leh."
Guess everyone caught the news about the new Truffle shaker fries!!! The smell had us all excited but ultimately, it tasted more garlicky and onion to us. It'll be just a one time try for us!
