A random trip to Bedok Marketplace was what it took us to find Kanom Thai by chance β€” it does seem that there has been quite a high turnover rate for the hawker stalls that are located at Bedok Marketplace, with many of the tenants that we had spotted during our previous visit to the food centre having been replaced by new stalls. Located right beside Fatty Patty at the second level of the food centre in one of the middle aisles is Kanom Thai; one of the recent additions to Bedok Marketplace which seems to have a specialty in serving Thai snacks and Thai desserts β€” its pink facade is something which we found to be rather difficult to miss. The menu has a heavy emphasis on serving up Thai iced desserts β€” one can find items such as the Red Ruby, Shaved Ice with 3 topping, Thai Chendol and Pang-Yen (i.e. flavoured shaved ice with bread); other Thai snacks that Kanom Thai also serves up includes Fried Crispy Bananas, Thai Fried Sweet Potato Balls, and Young Coconut Jelly.

We were actually craving for Chendol when chanced upon the existence of Kanom Thai at Bedok Marketplace β€” this was how we found ourselves going for the Thai Chendol here. For those whom are unfamiliar with Thai Chendol, the Thai-rendition of the Chendol does seem to be a little more basic than the ones that we are familiar with in the local rendition β€” while there are still green Chendol jelly, the Thai Chendol comes with only jackfruit, shaved ice and coconut milk as compared to the Attap seeds, Gula Melaka and red beans that would come with the usual Chendol we are more familiar with. While the Chendol jelly comes in a dark green hue that seems to be pretty much void of any artificial colouring, we did find that the notes of Pandan seem rather faint for the Chendol jelly here. Nonetheless, the coconut milk actually comes with a rather intriguing floral aroma β€” almost rose-infused that gave it some form of contrast despite being slightly diluted from the melted shaved ice; all whilst the slight sweetness of the jackfruit also helped to elevate the experience just a little. The shaved ice was also a little bit on the coarser side then what we would prefer it to be. Overall, a bowl of Thai Chendol that we felt isn’t quite memorable; still something worth considering for dessert whilst at Bedok Marketplace especially given the lack of dessert options in the immediate area it is situated in.

Legit thai food. Pad thai kway teow was flavourful and seafood were fresh and tender. Green curry was spicy with tender chicken. Ordered the fried stuffed chicken wing which was packed with ingredients. Pandan chicken was also tender. Thai milk tea and coconut milkshake also were good! The best part was the boss gave us a free marble cake because it was Mother's day. Just nice to celebrate Mother's day and really made my day since we didn't expect it. Good food and an unexpected cake. Wow πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

This fish is fried perfectly and it's meat is tasty too! It is crispy and comes with Asam Sriraja sauce (as stated in the menu) I think the taste of it is solid and robust and at such a low price, it's certainly worth it!

[Halal] A slight switch up from the flurry of dessert and Western-related food posts. Actually, not really the case. I just have rice and/or noodles almost everyday - they just go undocumented. 😬 That normally includes this Honey Chicken Fried Rice from Great Thai, but not today!

I really don't ask for much in a plate of one, but the generous amount of diced chicken in addition to the ones mixed with their honey sauce were greatly appreciated! It also doesn't have too many different ingredients and it wasn't oily too. This goes perfectly with a cup of their Thai Iced Tea! If I never had to worry about staying in shape, you can bet I'd have this everyday (7.5/10)

The menu offers 34 items, and the dishes that we tried ranged from average to pretty good. Standouts include the Thai Fish Cake (unfortunately, limited to 1pc per customer) and the very addictive Fried Chicken Wings with Herbs (luckily, this one can order until happy-happy!).

Ambience was good. Was greeted in Thai when I went it but not serve by Thai. Service was okay. food wise, not bad worth trying. Over all good!
