Nasi ambeng. A mound of white rice was surrounded by a myriad of ingredients – beef rendang, curry chicken, salted Bombay fish, sambal goreng, begedil, winged beans, serunding, beef lungs, achar, and ikan bilis with peanuts.

Opened two months ago, Nenek Leng serves up recipes taught to them by their late grandma. As expected, flavours here were punchy and the red/green combo of sambal was a hit. Huge portion of omelette with onions and a savoury begedil means that you’re probably walking away with a food coma too. Only thing we wished could have been better was the dry (but very aromatic) chicken. Certainly a contender in the already stacked Golden Mike Hawker.

Woot! New stalls popping out at Goldenmile Food Centre! @nenekleng serves up nasi ambeng with a wide variety of dishes to select from. Loving the accompanying 2 types of chilli too. The chicken goreng I pick was topped full of crispy crumbs that’ll leave you wanting more. Definitely want to try the other dishes when I’m back as the beef rendang looked delicious too!
