Essentially a mixture between teh and iced chocolate blended together. Sounds amazing but tastes just like super thick Milo 😂 Price is pretty steep but thank god for KopiPass and their Christmas giveaways 😂
Moist and soft banana cake with a layer of banana sandwiched in between. Chocolate sauce was sticky (Y) and the cake wasn't overly sweet. Quite surprised when the service charge same because there wasnt any service apart from ordering and paying for the cake
Spent $3.90 a drink for ice lime tea and lime barley. Was slapped with a surprise 10% service out of nowhere!!!! Misleading with no footnotes stating service charge in the menu
Mee siam is a difficult dish to explain to a tourist. It is a Thai-inspired Malay dish with rice vermicelli, egg, tau pok, bean sprouts and garnished with garlic chives. A simple local dish that is usually eaten for breakfast.
Hainanese chicken cutlet with rice. A simple comfort food. Though, I wish they were more generous with the sauce.
Loved the concept of this café. Fun and chill ambience which brings us so much nostalgia. The cashier counter has merchandises like toys and titbits from the olden days which is hard to find nowadays.
While waiting for your food to arrive, you can play with some of the toys on your dining table and this way is actually quite smart in order to keep the customer occupied if the food will take a little long to arrive😜👍🏼
Food was good and satisfying too. Price is also affordable.
Although picture perfect, the Kway Pie Tee ($6.80) was not robust in flavour enough for me. Fairing a little better was the Mee Siam ($5.80). The gravy was thick and more than adequately sour, sweet and spicy all at once. I liked the "tau kwa" but I found the "tau pok" a little too dry. Even when I left them to soak longer in the gravy, absorption was unfortunately, minimal.
Both prices above are before 10% service charge.
Nasi Lemak costs $7.80 here. The sambal was nice but the otak was very dry- felt like they microwave the otak to warm it up.
Comfort food for a cold night. The broth was rich, just the way I like it. Adding the sambal added further uumph to the dish. The price was affordable as well at $5.80 :)
While waiting for the food to serve. play old school games such as old maid, five stones, snakes and ladder etc!
This lil’ cafe in Upper Thomson is decorated into a classroom setting, with chalkboards on both sides, classroom style wooden furniture, menu that comes in an exercise book, and card games to play with. Here's a photo of chendol. Read more: http://www.misstamchiak.com/old-school-delights/
if you grew up in the 80s or 90s and feel like taking a trip down memory lane, Old School Delights is definitely the place for you. You'll be greeted by old school blackboards and a relaxed and chilled atmosphere. The top 10 list on "How To Tell If You're Delightfully Old School" brought back childhood memories you'll be dying to share. The highlight of the whole meal was the Chocolate Banana Fudge Cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A perfect place to bring you back to the good old days
Everything old school from mee siam to kueh pie tee. And I played five stones and old maid there after 25-30 years? 🤔
