Quite a nice bowl of yongtaufoo, ingredients were fresh and soup light but tasty. The bowl of noodles reminded me a little of xiu ji ikan bilis ytf, but this one has veg and the ikan bilis is not crisp. A rather decent bowl with a manageable queue (about 10 mins at 1.30pm).

Don’t have to worry about picking your ytf ingredients, because each bowl comes in a standard mix of fishballs, beancurds, fried beancurds and beancurd rolls. Liked that there’s a good amount of soybeans given but would have liked more fish paste filling in each of the stuffed pieces. The clear broth made with anchovies and soy beans was lightly sweetened, and was quite a good complement to the heavier seasoned ytf pieces. My fav old school ytf bowl is still hands down Xiu Ji Ikan Bilis Yong Tau Fu’s!

Compare to the new style yong tau foo which you pick and choose the yong tau foo items, the items are floating in a cauldron and you have not much choices. However the items are well made and very tasty. The chilli and sweet sauces are the old school type which matches the yong tau foo well.

There’s many stalls in this food centre selling yong tau foo. At the other side of the food centre you can find this stall. Unlike the other famous stall, they do serve their yong tau foo with noodle.

The noodles somehow taste similar to Xiu Ji at Chinatown Complex but their Ikan Bilis is much bigger as compared.

One of four yong tau foo (ytf) stalls in People’s Park Food Centre (yes, the crowd here is mad for ytf), Poy Kee is arguably the third most popular stall after the insanely popular Yong Xiang Xing Dou Fu where you have to queue like crazy to get your order and the hot newcomer, Bai Nian Yong Tau Foo.
Here at Poy Kee, there are queues, but it clears within 15 minutes which is why it's a favourite among office workers. Every order is also served as a complete meal — ytf items comes with soup, vegetables and a bowl of noodles — another attraction.
You can't choose what goes into your order, so a set ($3.30/4.30/5.30) gets you fishballs, steamed stuffed beancurds, fried stuffed beancurds and fish paste rolls wrapped with beancurd skins. The fish paste is flavoured a bit sweeter than what other stalls serve, but you get less of it as compared to when the stall was in its heyday some two decades ago. The items have shrunk in size, but they're still several notches better than factory-made ytf.
The other nitpick is the less than silky steamed beancurd but we’re really splitting hairs here
The other attraction is still the well-dressed dry noodles that have a dominant spiciness, as well as lightly sweet and savoury supporting flavours. And of course, every order comes with boiled soy beans and larger-than-normal crunchy ikan bilis. The noodles come fairly springy, though we have had them overcooked on occasion.

There are a few yong tau foo stalls at People’s Park Hawker Centre and this stall is the one that i like. You cannot choose your ingredients here as it comes in a default set (but be rest assured that all of them are freshly prepared and delicious), while the noodles & chili sauce are also very good!
