Best confit ever, super crispy skin and tender inside. Very worth the price

Strong, punchy flavours yet light, and amazingly fragrant. The drizzle of olive oil add an interesting depth to the profile. What an interesting rendition. Half way through, I gave up being cultured and drank straight from the jar. Ok, that's all.

Smooth, rich mushroom terrine which is more liver than mushroom but who's complaining. Ok, that's all.

Located at Boat Quay, Restaurant Absinthe is a three-storey restaurant that offers different dining experiences on each level. Have a laid-back dinner alfresco or at the seafood bar on the first floor, dial it up a notch on the second floor with a classier, vintage feel and go all out on the third floor with a posh, fine dining experience. Start off with the Hamachi ($22), a Japanese-inspired carpaccio of yellowtail kingfish, with salmon roe and truffle. Then, move on to the sublime Canard Confit ($28) – a classic French duck confit with thin, crackly skin and exceedingly tender, flavourful, and juicy meat – probably one of the best you'll ever have. For a sweet finish, go for the Crème Brûlée ($12) or go savoury with exquisite Fromages (from $26 for three) from a trolley of French farmed cheeses. Working in the area? They've got set lunches too (from $28 for two courses)!

Super juicy prawn, with hints of truffle | ★★★★★

Sweet dreams~

Altogether very substantial with that large brick of fish atop creamy risotto cooked in prawn stock. What's surprising is how clean the flavours are, given the richness of the rice and the oiliness of cod.

Set lunch here is only $28++ for three courses. Mad value! This is one of the starter options (the other is a niçoise salad), and it tastes like spam with the texture of duck rillette.

The lobster bisque was comforting, though I still like Saybon's better. The choux pastry was pretty but passable. The deep fried prawns was incredibly juicy. This prawn served us well. Lol.

Foie Gras Terrine. Creamy foie gras interspersed with strips of smoked duck breast for a hit of salt. Homemade brioche and black fig jam for company. #foiegras #terrine #brioche #jam #frenchfood #foodporn #sgfood #ilovemyjob

Saint Jacques. Possibly the best-cooked scallops I've had. These Hokkaido scallops had a beautiful, even sear on the surface; cut into each and you'll see a distinct line where the white, cooked flesh fades into a translucent, raw midsection. #scallops #sear #seafood #frenchfood #sgfood #foodporn #ilovemyjob

Skin is crispy n nice.. Generally, portion is good. Love the Sarladaise potatoes.

The serving portion was generous. At least a good 6 chunks of pan fried foie gras. Tiny bits of cranberry. Wished it's a bit more balanced.

Warm buttery and fluffy brioche with creamy liver. What more to ask for?

Ok my limited photo skills does it no justice but it's really quite good! Pan Fried Foie Gras, Morello Cherries and Blinis.

Wagyu beef heaven which costs a bomb. Well, there's always a price to pay for good food.. But I will be eating plain porridge for this whole month.... Haha!
Wagyu Rib of Beef, Potato Gratin, Baby Vegetables and Béarnaise (Min. 2) $82.00/Person
