Went to Sushiro and ordered a few of their items: fried shrimp and avocado roll, salmon sushi, tuna mayo salad, chawanmushi and more😇 Total bill came out to be about $70 for 2 pax, a little steep but good quality sushi💯👍🏻 Overall ratings 8/10!!😄

Fully enjoyed the experience at Sushiro, fun, casual, quality Japanese sushi and ramen.

Kaiten-zushi or conveyor belt sushi is a fast-food style of sushi wherein you just take plates of sushi off a conveyor belt. It has also "evolve" to allow diners to order via tablet and have their orders delivered by a "shinkansen" (a bullet train) to their tables. It is a convenient and affordable way to eat sushi as the sushi is usually mechanically molded instead of by a shokunin and there is economy of scale. Prices per plate usually start at 100 yen in Japan and approx. $2.50 in Singapore.

@sushirosingapore is the largest kaiten-zushi chain in Japan and entered our shores two years ago. They have since expanded to numerous outlets islandwide.

J and I were at their Lido outlet recently and were really impressed with the quality of the sushi. All of their seafood were fresh and of good quality considering their prices. It is probably one of the best kaiten-zushi restaurants in Singapore. We really enjoyed all of their sushi and in particular, we loved their hotate sushi which had a firm structure and a sweet almost creamy taste.

Compared to the other kaiten-zushi restaurants, Sushiro however does have a rather limited menu outside of sushi. For example, they don't serve sashimi (or at least we couldn't find it). We have visited another outlet which seem to serve a slightly different menu and the quality of the seafood seemed to be lower as well.

For those who hate queueing, you can take your queue number via their app but please hor don't be kiasu and hog the queue numbers!

I wish I had discovered Sushiro earlier because the quality and freshness of the fish here is great for the price they charge.

Pictured are some of my favourites; Salmon Belly Nigiri, Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Nigiri, Salmon Gunkan, Spicy Salmon & Tuna Gunkan, Vinegared Mackerel, and a limited edition plate I can’t remember the name of.

It’s a quick and fuss free meal, as the sushi arrives promptly after you order on the tablet. I like that they limit you to 4 plates per order on the tablet, so you don’t over order - you can basically only order 4 plates at a time before having to send a new order in on the tablet. The payment and billing is efficient and they have a loyalty card, where you get a stamp for every visit and redeem gifts based on the number of stamps you have.

As the title reads, it’s my go-to for a satisfying conveyor belt sushi experience and you can save time by reserving a table through their app.

Ordered this to end off our sushi feast and while we were disappointed at first by how small the crepe cake is, we were pleasantly surprised that there's ice cream! The soft serve was milky and stole the limelight from the crepe cake as the cake tasted a bit like layered twiggies. Will order just the soft serve next time!! Price: $4.50
