Love dining at Sora as the ventilation is great even when ordering tendon. For this bowl, it costs $18.90++ and comes with the usual humongous portion of seafood, chicken, vegetable deep fried with seaweed batter and drizzled with mentaiko sauce. Worth a try if you're a tendon fan and want something different from the usual. Only available in Changi and possibly limited time only!

Like so so shiok hor. This is someone else’s order. The beeper beep and I was collecting mine and this appeared.

Since we are sending people off. Always a delight, walk around and saw that @kohakutendon is at T2 too!

Japan Gourmet Hall SORA has been in business since November last year, and there were some hits and some misses, depicted from the modification of the menu from some of the 6 stalls here, or otherwise the change in pricing for some more (or less) popular items in the house.

A bowl of Tendon Kohaku (S$17.70) was just what I needed after arriving at Singapore from overseas, because a very small bed of rice was literally buried under an array of tempura items, including sliced chicken, squid, crabstick, pumpkin, long beans, shiitake mushroom and two big prawns. It was literally an overdose of tempura that was big in variety until the small bowl was necessary in holding all of them, so that I could see the rice at the base.

Unlike the long queue that most would encounter at Suntec City, this one over at SORA would pass you a buzzer, and you could just wait by your seat until my food was ready for collection. Most would probably be pleased to learn that all prices were nett, and no additional taxes to be charged at exit.

I’ve always gone to the one at Boat Quay so I thot I would try it here for comparison. I ordered my usual spicy bowl. Took abt 30mins. I had already finished my Tokyo Sundubu stew and modanyaki while waiting so I was very full.

It looked great. And it came with miso soup, which I didn’t get at the Boat Quay branch. The items were the same. But somehow it wasn’t as spicy. I shared this bowl with hubby and still managed to get a sore throat the next day.

Trust me, when I first heard that Tendon Kohaku has opened their third outlet at SORA, I was so stoked. It simply means that I might stand a higher chance eating this much-raved Kohaku Tendon (S$17.70) from social media, without having to queue in town.

The frying time was perfectly managed by the chef, and all the Tempura were nicely laid, piece by piece, to make the Tendon more Instagrammable. Even after the sauce is drizzled down the fried stuff, they do not turn soggy quickly, and the items that are meant to be crunchy stays crisp and fresh.

It didn’t feel as if the Tempura are oily, so just eat without worrying about the taste of oil. Between the original and the spicy sauce, I believe I like the former option more, as the spicy sauce included a slight spicy touch to the food which not everyone may fancy. Nonetheless, the food also comes with a bowl of Miso soup.
