Turning up that feeling of nostalgia, The Line at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore celebrates the Nation’s Birthday with not just a spread of local staples but also retro snacks and tropical fruits. Apart from their extensive international live cooking stations, find items such as delectable Oyster Omelette, comforting Bak Kut Teh, the must-have Chilli Crab, and even Yong Tau Fu in the mix. Available from 18th Jul to 10th Aug (Thursdays - Sundays only).

Drawn to the old-school titbit cart, I love picking out my favourite childhood snacks, including Kacang Puteh, Twisties, White Rabbit Sweets, and more. What’s more, save some tummy space for dessert at “The Flavours of Singapore”, or indulge in the king of fruits - Golden Phoenix, Hong Xia (Red Prawn) and D13!

Thank you @gastrology_ for the invitation and hosting us!

Just to set things straight: The regular buffet stations are still at The Line, which I'm thankful for because I hardcore love love loveeee their seafood. I can just keep whacking this seafood station again & again. I don't really need to say much - it's fresh, offers diners with good variety, & the seafood is replenished often.

Thanks Casey for the invite & for hosting us! 💕

The Flavours of Singapore buffet is available during dinner from 6pm to 10pm, Thursday - Sunday until 10 Aug 2019.

Right next to the tropical fruits station you'll see a stall serving childhood snacks. It doesn't get any more nostalgic than this!

Pick out the Kacang Puteh you love, grab a handful of White Rabbit Sweets, or a pack of Wheel Crackers to go. I'm personally not a snacker (not even when I was a kid), but this is quite a nice touch that you rarely see at buffets 😂

The durian lovers might consider this the star of The Flavours of Singapore buffet - an outdoor tropical fruits station where durians are served. Take your pick from 3 variants: Golden Phoenix, Red Prawn & D13.

But that's not all; to refresh your tastebuds, I reckon you should also eat their other fruits such as mangosteen, jackfruit, rambutan & longan.

Do be mindful to eat the durians outside, don't bring them indoors please 🤯

Don't forget the local drinks as well! The Flavours of Singapore buffet has free-flow drinks like Iced Bandung, Chendol, Soya Bean with Chin Chow... But you know me I can't pass up alcohol.

Check out my limited-edition Tiger district bottle.. Smells like Holland Village. Just kidding.

But what I'm not kidding about: You pay only $128++ on Thursday, & this includes free flow beers & soft drinks. On top of the amazing variety of food to spoil you rotten.

Support local & dine at Shangri-la's The Line with The Flavours of Singapore buffet spread, happening every Thu - Sun until 10 Aug 2019.

During this period, the special addition of nostalgic food & beverages to their already-impressive spread means that you can jiak (& lim) local to your heart's content.

Examples of dishes they have - Yong Tau Foo, Oyster Omelette, Chap Chye, Chilli Crab (with Mantou to soak up the sauce YAS) & Hokkien Noodles with Braised Pork Leg. Plenty of other options not pictured here, such as Bak Ku Teh, Char Kuay Teow, etc.
