We also love good coconuty homemade kaya. French toast with homemade kaya? Now that’s what we’re talking about 🍞🍳🍯🤤 Kudos to whoever thought of replacing maple syrup with kaya to create this mouthwatering sweet-savory combination. Tong Ah’s twist on this classic western breakfast is absolute 🔥

Local Singapore delight. I wouldn’t travel all the way here, but would definitely bring some non local friends to try it out given its heritage.

The amount of scallop feels less every time I eat it, but otherwise is a dish that is unique and never disappoints!

Yeps, you read it right — butter! It sounds weird or even gross to some people, but I had a good first experience! Somehow the butter brought out the coffee flavour and I’ll definitely drink it again. Zi char is a bit pricey but really good — get the tofu.

This little store is not only worth visiting for their kaya toast, but their zi char menu is equally good. Highly recommend their homemade tofu and specialty chicken. Do pop by one day for lunch or dinner for a quick zi char meal

Still my favourite kaya toast because only this uncle takes the effort to toast and toast and toast again until it becomes biscuit-like crispy. Also the amount of kaya and butter is just right to still let you appreciate the fragrane of their toasted bread.
