More Reviews of good food at Watami Japanese Dining 和民居食屋 (Junction 8)

Store has many many good food, but this is particular item is a Highly Recommended item. Not that oily, soft and yummy!! Perfect for people for has craving for quick fix of crab.

Naturally sweetened soup with plenty of vegetables and meat! Will recommend to order udon and share.

Nothing memorable, could barely remember where I ate this at. They have a choice of 3 soup based and I opted for the spicy one. Ramen was really nicely coated with sesame oil tho!

Place was nice and cosy, great for catch up.

this was quality salmon sashimi atop fluffy japanese rice—simple and basic but well-executed. 😋 the sashimi slices were sliced just right (not too thin and not too thick as well) and there was a rather generous amount. the tobiko and tamago were good additions as well, adding texture to the don.

definitely satisfied my sashimi cravings :-,) overall, watami is a good place for quality japanese food at relatively reasonable prices.

$15.90++ | 8/10

Pretty decent meal for a casual dining restaurant, though you might be able to get better value at other Japanese restaurants (cause this was still pretty pricey!) The set menu definitely makes it a little more affordable, and you can customize it + top up whatever else you wanted! From the set we ordered a Caesar salad (average), 3 appetizers (California maki was average, gyoza was below average (could have been more crisp) and agedashi tofu was below average), 2 dons (unagi don and butadon, both of which were really nice and flavourful! PSA if you don’t take wasabi, try to ask them not to add wasabi to the rice for the butadon), a teppanyaki (grilled chicken was decent) and a sukiyaki pork hotpot (this was yum!). Topped up the salmon avocado roll (pretty good!) and liked that their salmon sashimi slices were a good balance between thick and thin and tasted fresh! 😋😋 Also had their chawanmushi and special roe chawanmushi, both of which were pretty normal~ All in all, a good place for casual Japanese food, quality wise it’s passable but very average and don’t get your expectations too high up 😅😅 One plus point was service was good and very very fast! 👍🏻👍🏻

3 thick slices of 5 kinds of sashimi: salmon, salmon belly, tuna, scallop, and yellow tail fish. Good for a quick fix for sashimi cravings.

Signed up for $30 membership on the spot and redeemed an additional plate of 5 pieces of salmon sashimi. Membership comes with 2x $15 vouchers and discounts on every meal (20% during birthday month, otherwise 10%).

Nowadays there are so many new food places to try that I often forget about the tried and tested chains like Watami, which provides reliable and affordable set meals. Go for the individual hotpot meals for a light lunch.

Pretty good student deal on weekday lunch time! Decent portion of beef shabu (though meh quality with quite a bit of fat) to dip in raw egg 🤤🤤 Udon was pretty good, though remember to control the fire cause the noodles got a little too soft and lost its bite after a while. Soup was a little salty too, but pretty good value for a nice little meal with a refreshing citrusy yuzu drink on the side too! 😋😋

the lunch sets were pretty affordable and tasty! beef udon came with a very generous amount of thinly sliced, tender pieces of beef, which were really tasty and no doubt the best part. udon was also pretty good with a good chew to the noodle. the only gripe might be that the soup was a little too salty for my liking.

friend ordered the chicken cutlet, which was not bad as well and seemed like a pretty popular choice amongst customers.

great value for money with the student meal specials and good quality food! will come back 😺

If there's one thing I'd order again, this would be no. 1 on my list. Salmon with sweet mango piled on a stack of sushi rolls and topped with ikura! 😍 Simple affordable pleasures.

And it was a pretty good salad even though it might not be the healthiest since it comes with some sort of crackers. But definitely meet the criteria of a delicious healthy meal with fresh protein, enhanced by the sauce that could be purchased off the shelves in super market.

Pepper beef rice in hot stone bowl, $9.90- beef meat is tender and nice.

Lol.... Yummy salad when i met up with bestie during her maternity break 😊

Salmon sushi don. Looks like a jelly fish. Sushi tei's is better, don't like the sweet sauce spoiling the salmon sashimi

Beef pepper rice. Quite little beef slices, and not as tasty as pepper lunch. Really hot stone bowl which burns food fast if you don't keep stirring. Some people like the charred claypot rice that results though. Http://sethlui.com
