OMG! What I absolutely love about this bowl of pig organ soup is the liver...it's actually not as red as it looks.. Pardon my lousy camera.. The ingredients were generous and I even refilled my soup!
The soup and the liver was superb! The other stuff was pretty ordinary but the organs weren't foul smelling at all :).. Also, there is another shop called cheng mun chee kee located at 24 foch road.. I'm not sure which one is the authentic one.. But the foch road one seems to have much more patrons.. Taste wise, they are pretty similar.. But the meat in foch road store sure taste better, I think the soup is slightly thicker as well.. But the one on jalan besar (so called authentic one) has way better liver! So soft and tender.. Nicely done.. Foch road.. U overcooked yours!
My opinion is you should try both and decide which do you like more...if not for the liver I'd most probably go for foch road.. Oh, also, if you don't like your soup sour..rmb to exclude the salted vegetables, I think that's the ingredient making in sour.. Rmb to get your seat b4 ordering :) #localsgfood #pigorgan #burpple #็ชไป #lavender #comfortfood #pigliver
A mild tease from the spicy mentaiko sauce, Barashi-teiโs Spicy Salmon Maki ($12.80) consists of all my favourite ingredients. From the soft aburi salmon to the thinly battered ebi tempura, the maki definitely stole the show and was the best out of our dinner spread. Topped with ikura, the salmon was nicely torched creating a light smokey and creamy flavour while the fried prawn in the center gave a good crunch.
What's your fav thing from Swee Choon?
No problem! The second outlet at Jalan Sultan, Hotel Boss opens daily from 11am to 5am! Indulge in not only Bak Ku Teh but also Braised Pig's Intestines, Braised Pig's Trotters, Pig's Intestines Soup, Braised Bean Curd Skin, Salted Vegetables, You Tiao and many more!
Thunder the yummy crunchy tea rice. And the price is so reasonable for food court. Will be found at food republic at suntec city.
my eat clean today with lei cha. so they say pine tree cafe is good, so travel i come to try. boldest burst of fried cai-por (preserved radish) taste among the lei chas i ate, but lends a lovely saltiness to the mix. ingredients are simple at best (wait, no winged beans??) and the mix with rice are enough to eat on its own. tea was smooth but nothing spectacular. definitely a healthy pleaser for the office crowd there but travel again for another bowl? na, there are better and nearer choices in the west.
The king prawn pasta here is absolutely divine! Giant, meaty prawns and the sauce is like a spicy Hokkien mee and Laksa combination. It also comes with egg floss. Must try!
It is exactly how it looks: a huge pile of fries drenched generously in nacho cheese. At $8.90, they do give a large quantity. However, it can get a little gelat after a while, given all the cheese and fries.
Sandwiched between Stateland Cafe and Honeycomb at Bali Lane, & Why is a New York-themed deli brought to you by the guys behind I Am Cafe along Haji Lane. Halal-certified and Muslim-run, & Why serves coffee, sandwiches, salads, mocktails, and selected bakes. Go for their Lobster Mobster ($16.90) โ lobster chunks tossed with chopped celery and mayo, topped with arugula on bread -- and their indulgent Choc Rocher Cheesecake. End your meal with one of their decadent non-alcoholic mocktails such as the Mad About Dolce ($6.90) โ you'd swear it tastes like it contains Baileys!
Switch things up and check out this rooftop bar away from the town madness. The cocktail menu is kept fresh with new releases each week.
Well, it's more of their theme rather than an actual food slobber-knocker. One thing is for sure: you'll be put in a dilemma.
Also known as squid ink pasta which is much raved about pasya brava. Good oceanic flavours with a firmer pasta, not at al dente, but most locals dont loke al dente anyway.
