Was super excited for this, but it proved to be disappointing. There wasn’t much matcha taste in the ice cream and it was too hard. The only part I enjoyed was the toasted marshmallows.
This is for seafood fans! The seafood mains (sashimi, crab, oysters, and cooked seafood) were fresh and very tasty. Apart from the oysters, which disappeared immediately after being replenished, there was enough food for the almost-full restaurant.
That said, the non-seafood dishes (like the bread and dessert) were a mixed bag. There was so bread so hard I couldn’t eat it, but another one was soft and fluffy. Most of the desserts were so-so, but the waffle was extremely light and crispy and the durian pengnat was amazing.
If you’re here for the seafood, you won’t be disappointed. But there aren’t many non-seafood options, so keep that in mind if your group has vegetarians or people who can’t take seafood.
My first cheese tea! I liked that they used a lot of strawberries, yet the taste of the tea was still there. I’m not sure if the cheese was needed, but it wasn’t unpleasant. It’s expensive but I find myself wanting more.
The first thing I noticed when I walked into Rakki Bowl was the truffle smell; it was insanely strong. So when the wagyu don came, it was a bit hard to distinguish the truffle taste from the scent already present in the place. That said, this was tasty (albeit very peppery) and I liked the combination of tender beef with runny egg.
Loved the toasted marshmallows here. The chocolate froyo was also very decadent and rich (I’m actually wondering if it should be plain froyo, to balance all the sweetness of the skillet s’mores).
If the chocolate chips at the bottom of the skillet were melted and there were more biscuits, the dish would be perfect.
Was quite excited for this but it didn’t really taste like okonomiyaki. More like truffle tots with mayo on top.
Portion was quite big, though, so this is best shared with a friend.
The lychee rose tasted mostly like lychee, while the sea salt was surprisingly pleasant. Toppings are an additional $.080 per topping.
This was really pretty, but I couldn’t finish the whole cup (neither could my friend) - the portion was bigger than expected.
This was very sweet but also very, very rich. Cornflake encrusted bread with creamy peanut butter and jam. I shared this with a friend but we couldn’t finish our halves of the sandwich. You’d need a very sweet tooth for this.
This was a thin-crust pizza with a generous helping of cheese. Tasted delicious and the portion size is pretty big too (ordered one pizza for myself and ended up regretting it - luckily my family was more than happy to help finish this)
The red velvet waffles were crispy on the outside and chewy inside, with bits of cream cheese in the waffle. The ice cream tasted like genmaicha (which is basically roasted rice tea) and complemented the waffles well. LOVED THIS.
Steak with mashed potatoes, mushroom sauce, broccoli and baby carrots. Get the beef medium rare - it’s just right like this. Any more heat and it might be too tough. The mushroom sauce went very well with the meat and the mashed potatoes (and I guess, the vegetables, because there isn’t any other sauce).
Easily our favourite dish - sweet potato fries with bulgogi and cheese (there’s also supposed to be sriracha but we asked them not to put it in). It’s tasty and extremely addictive. Filling too.
