The cafe is well-decorated with fake plants/trees and it had really nice vibes + has some natural lighting when we visited in the afternoon!

The food and drinks were however quite meh. We shared one of their bread items as we weren’t v hungry and the chocolate croissant was so-so even though it looks quite pretty. Not v generous with the chocolate and the pastry was cold :( also tried their iced signature latte (mocha flavoured $8.50) with the summer breeze blend and it was alright! Might return to try their other items (not pastries) and for the vibes but only if I’m in the area :)

Have never really tried their hot desserts before so decided to give this a try but was quite disappointed with the sesame paste :(( the colour irl seems rly weird like it’s light grey instead of the usual black.. the paste was rly rly thick and had weird chunks which even though you could easily break up with your spoon, the texture just doesn’t seem right.. seems v artificial 🥲

Tangyuans were ok – standard black sesame rice balls x3 but will I order this again? Definitely a no ☹️ but please go try the sesame paste from Mei Hong Yuen 味香园!!! Cheaper and way better.

So good!!! Ok the photo is v ugly HAHAHAHA but it’s really good trust me it’s my fav briyani of all time 🥺 (I know I haven’t had that many briyanis but I wouldn’t mind eating this once every week if I could). I love that the rice is soooo flavourful by its own even without the daal – but it tastes even yummier with it. It’s on the sweeter side, and not spicy (would have preferred for it to have some spice but I’m alright w this).

Chicken can sometimes be q drying (personally not a huge fan of chicken) but it goes very well with the daal and the rice. The achar (made with fresh cucumber that yknw is still crunchy) is pretty solid too.

This is something we’d willingly drive all the way to Eunos for, so pls give it a try if you’re in the area!

You could have this soup or dry and we went with the dry version (with oyster sauce). Couldn’t rly taste the oyster sauce but the the gravy from the braised pork mixed well with the noodles :) generous meat chunks and super tender as well! Nice texture. I’m usually not a huge fan of pork ribs but this was nice.

You can choose to have it dry or soup and we went with the soup version for this order. Generous with the meat but it was a bit tough and hard to chew :( noodles as usual is good!

Will I order this again? Not really because it’s quite pricey :(

One of our fav 梅菜扣肉饭 actually! We tried it once before (also via GrabFood) and it was super yummy but this time round when we ordered it, it was quite salty so consistency might be a problem :(

But overall, still a solid rice dish. Very generous with the meat and preserved veg and gravy. Will I order this again? Yes this is one of the few main dishes I’ll have whenever I’m at Sheng Kee :)

Got the soy bean flavour one to try and thought it was just ok! The mochi texture was surprisingly soft and really chewy?? It’s almost like jelly, personally I would have preferred if the mochi was more firm and had a bit more bite. The injeolmi powder was ok, not too overwhelming and had hints of brown sugar in between!

$5.90 for 12 huge pieces, definitely good for sharing! So I think it’s quite worth it but next time I might try other flavours instead.

Although I do like bread, I never would have walked into a bakery like this myself so I’m glad my friends recommended this and brought me along! Heard that this is new addition to the Everton Park area which happen to house a lot of other good cafes (The Better Half, Nylon Coffee, etc.)

• Plaint Croissant: $4.50, which I thought was so-so like nothing special)
• Parma Ham & Burrata: $14+, nice flavours but I rmb we had a hard time chewing which probably was because the bread were all q cold.. don’t think they offer reheating services even though we dined in. The breads would have been so much nicer if they were served fresh/warm.
• Kinako Snails: which is essential a croissant sprinkled with roasted soybean powered, also known as injeolmi in Korean! The nutty-flavoured powder made the croissant a lot yummier :)

Do take note that the cafe has vvv limited seats. There were 4 of us and I think that’s all the cafe can accommodate? Do consider taking away if you can. Overall it was a good experience! However I wouldn’t travel all the way there for this 😅 would probably get 1-2 if I’m passing by.

My friends and I stumbled upon this rly quaint-looking and cozy cafe while in the area! The cafe is quite small but you get such good vibes from the friendly staff and the smells of coffee and cake :)

We tried the Vanilla Salted Caramel ($6.50), Chocolate ($6.50) and I had a hot mocha ($6). The cakes were so good. Sponge cake was simple but done really well – not too sweet either even though we went for the chocolatey flavours. The salted caramel buttercream went really well with the vanilla sponge, and the dark chocolate ganache was v shiok! Coffee was great too, esp when we ordered our hot cups on a rainy afternoon.

Would totally go back for their other pretty-looking tea cakes. Eyeing the earl grey lemon/lavender which looks so pretty!!

Happy to know that Sushiro is finally here in the North!!! They serve rly good quality sushi at affordable prices – red plates $2.20, yellow plates $3.20 and black plates $4.80.

Some of the must-trys include fatty tuna sushi ($2.20 or $4.80) good old salmon sushi ($2.20), inari ($2.20 because of how sweet it was!) and some of their fried stuffs like the tempuras which were done really well. There are also other dishes which we’ve tried at the Tiong Bahru outlet like the tuna with green onion and yellowtail sushi. They’re all very fresh and super worth it.

Total damage for 2 pax was about ~$30

Think they recently updated their menu so it’s now one main with 3 sides (inclusive of both sides and carbs).

I’ve always preferred their pork (esp the pork belly and ribs) but this time round I thought I’d try their salmon. It was ok, would have preferred it to be less dry actually. For the sides, I went with sweet potato fries (must get!) , mushroom ragout (new side) and good old mashed potato which you can’t go wrong with! I tried their garlic aioli sauce (also new) and it was a pleasant surprise :)

First time trying this dish because I saw a few customers order this and it looked yummy and I gotta say it tastes better than it looks!!! It’s spicy, salty, sour (loveeee the addition of vinegar!) and honestly v addictive

Can’t decide whether I prefer this or the XLBs (which is saying something because I rly rly love their XLBs!)
