Journey to the west for satisfying burgers made by two young hawkers in Commonwealth Crescent Food Centre. Order the Signature Beef Cheeseburger (from $6, $2 for bacon add-on) that features a juicy 120g premium beef patty sandwiched between buttery toasted buns, caramelised onions and a ton of cheese. The best part? All burgers are served with crispy fries!

The local rendition of riz labo is pretty good. The pancakes are fluffy, soft and reminds me of japanese cheese cake. Quite accurately made like the ones I had at the Riz Labo pop-up stall 2 months ago. At least I know where to get my riz labo fix in Singapore.

This poke bowl really packed a punch with its various components. The spicy salmon brought lots of heat, the pineapple cubes gave great sweetness and acidity, and the kelp introduced a contrasting texture to the dish, when eaten with the sushi rice. There was only a small portion of avocado that was given, but in any case, it was overpowered by all the other components and you didnā€™t really get that creaminess from it, nor any zest from the lime that was supposed to have been added. Portion of salmon was alright, although it might be hard to tell because we ordered an extra portion, so it might not be accurate.

CAN ORDERšŸ‘

S$5.80 for Soya Pudding (left)

Custard like texture, being more creamy than bouncy. Kuromitsu goes well with pudding, but felt like should be more spread out.

S$6.20 for Maccha Tiramisu (right)

A misnomer to be calling it a Tiramisu, but delicious as a cream cake with maccha dusting.

No expectation even though we heard of this place before. Pop by to Suntec for lunch & try this hipster food truck zone because we canā€™t find Food Republic. šŸ˜…
.
ā€œNasi Lemak fish burgerā€$7.90 (fish, Sambal, raw onion, cucumber and a fried egg) was served piping hot followed by ā€œCoyote Burgerā€$6.90 (beef patty with melted cheddar) with 1 packet of fries to share $4.0 We canā€™t find fault on burgers.
The ingredients are cooked freshly (so fresh that one of us got burnt tongue from biting into hot fried fish)...šŸ˜‚
Gotta be in one must try list! šŸ‘

Finally got to try FOOK KIN located at Killiney Road. This establishment is the brain child of the Muttons duo and Roast Paradise - people who love food and make good food - so you can only expect good things.

I had the Roast Paradise rice bowl which consists of all three house roasted specialities such as the duck, char siew and siew yoke; an egg; pickled vegetables; fragrant rice and soup. As the pork was good, the real standout was the duck as it was juicy and bursting with flavour. Another hit was the rice! Itā€™s extremely potent in flavour that one could just eat it on its own.

What better place to bring them for a scrumptious breakfast than @onemancoffee, where you can get their signature Gashouse Egg with Bacon Jam ($10). Melted cheese on thick brioche toast, cut into the middle youā€™ll be surprise by a flowy egg. Cut a piece of toast and pair it with their delicious candied bacon jam, itā€™s DA BOMBZ!

Where will you normally bring your overseas friends for breakfast?

Authentic Japanese restaurant which serves quality Japanese food. The atmosphere here was great and service was excellent as well. My favourite dish was the Salmon Aburi Mentai Maki (priced at $15.90 for 8 rolls). It is extremely value for money and tasted as good as it looks. I also ordered the Upsized Bara Chirashi (for only $14.80). The portion was really generous and the salmon and tuna were very fresh. There were plenty of rice at the bottom which I did not manage to finish. The waitress also recommended the seasonal fish Renkodai ($28.90) which was served half grilled and half sashimi-style. It did not make much of an impression, but was well done nevertheless. Overall, it was a great experience here and I would definitely come back for more!

At $8 (single), it's rather on the pricey side given the half of a cute sized boiled egg and perhaps 1/4 of a smashed avocado and a pinch of cheese, melted. Having said that, it's very standard cafe price so I ain't complaining. (We pay for the trendy cafe experience and ambience IMO). Also, it was delicious actually. Place accepts NETs and no GST or service charge šŸ˜ƒ

Soft poached eggs with hollandaise sits on potato roasting, sausage, smoked salmon rolls, baked beans and mixed salad. A great meal to kickstart the day.

This ($5.90) has a rich coconut flavour and the shaved ice was really fine making the dessert very refreshing. There was a generous portion of red and green ā€œrubiesā€ instead!
