the almighty makers above gave puny humans eggs, but did not give the recipe. they did however give it to australia diary co. this is da bestest scrambled eggs in da friggin universe.
Finally made my way down to try this non-conventional dish that lives to it's expectation. A thin layer of beehoon fried to crisp and simmered in the wok hei, not forgetting to find traces of pork lard that gives an additional enhancement.
Attention all easties, your side of Singapore just got better — again. Located within the heartlands of Serangoon is The Plain Jane, a cosy vintage-themed cafe where you can unwind and learn a thing or two about slow-living from Jane, the owner. For the uninitiated swiss roll eater, go for the freshly-made The Plain Roll ($4.90), a light, fluffy cake encasing a generous amount of smooth, melt-in-your-mouth cream that will ease you right into the club. Also try the crowd favourite Thai Milk Tea Not So Plain Roll ($5.90), or other limited edition flavours like Earl Grey, Matcha and Nutella Chocolate. These flavours come in limited in quantities, so be sure to head over early to secure the ones that you want. Sit back and relax with a cup of Ette Tea Mango Sticky Rice ($8 per pot) — you read that right, its genmaicha and black tea infused with diced mango and candied coconut bits for that extra fruity sweetness. Seasonal brunch items are also available, just check with Jane. Pro tip: To order a whole roll, contact them at least three to seven days in advance!
Never been a fan of swiss rolls and cream, so imagine my surprise when I found Plain Jane's to be nothing but stunning. The strong flavours, though mellowed and made subtle for this light dessert, were discernible and really fragrant. I really liked the Thai Tea and Matcha, and I'd return to try their Earl Grey!
Supposedly touted as the best in Singapore currently, Antoinette has sold out their version of salted egg croissant on the first day of its launch at its Penhas outlet. At $6.50++ a piece, you will have to expect long queues for dining in and takeaway.
Combining French baking techniques and Asian ingredients in the salted egg mix, what you will get is a flaky crispy crust on the outside and warm velvety salted egg goodness inside. It is now available at all Antoinette outlets.

During lunch hours, Wang Dae Bak is heavily packed! However their service are quick & attentive. We order Rice Cakes, Army Stew, Seafood Pancake, Spicy Tofu Seafood Stew, Pork Ribs Stew, Ginseng Chicken Soup & Spicy Beef Soup! This were food for 7 people! Their banchan (side dishes) are really delicious to start with, especially their fish cakes, egg, mashed potatoes! Refillable of course! 😉 Not forgetting they've Febreeze at the counter for you to spray over your clothes due to the food smell.
(You need to pay $24 now instead of $2.40 😂) Risotto cooked in coconut milk infused with lemongrass, the texture maybe slightly strange but once you mixed in some of these homemade sambal, you will find yourself on familiar ground. Included are 3 crunchy prawns and topped with a poached egg, fried onions and some ikan bilis ( ingredients that you usually find in Nasi Lemak). Made good use of the 1 for 1 mains on their anniversary and soft lanuch for their dinner menu which is coincidentally available tomorrow 😊
Buttermilk biscuit sandwich comes with melted cheddar, house-made tomato jam with hash browns. While the scrambled eggs were thick and creamy, the star of the dish is the biscuit – flaky, tender, and always melt-in-your-mouth good.

Famous for their swissrolls, I'm proud to say they've withstood the test of time and still taste as good as what I had when I was a child. It sure brings back memories. $8 per roll.... Worth every penny and best part was there's no queue he he
Wasn't expecting much initially by was surprised by this cream sauces spaghetti with lots of chili padi and prawns. Really Sedap!
🙆🏻
Great textures on @churro101sg's churros, crispy on the outside with a chewy centre. Both the dark chocolate coated and desiccated coconut ones were delish!!
My standards for my man are pretty up there so, not better than my boyfriend for sure, but immensely satisfying and nevertheless one of the best churros I've had in a long while!
