We had the orange camellia tea and the shine muscat grape phoenix tea and both were refreshing options with a more prominent tea fragrance than an emphasis on the fruits.
The Jasmine Shine Muscat Cake, a seasonal flavour, wasn't too sweet and had a combination of the floral and fruity in one!
The black sesame mochi had a chewy texture as well with a generous amount of filling in it. I would have liked a stronger black sesame flavour but it was still distinct.
We had the sea salt soya mochi cake that I liked the most because the sponge was light and the sea salt helped to reduce the creaminess of the soya. The mochi was nice and chewy too!
Weekend coffee things at @wagawagaden. We had a Cloud (Iced Cappuccino) and a Concrete (Iced Mocha) and enjoyed how the coffee had a rich aroma, going well with the cocoa powder (along with chocolate for the Concrete) 😋 the coffees are strong, with quite a caffeine kick which made it nice for a lazy weekend 😌
@wonderfulbapsang is a Korean restaurant tucked inside the back of a Korean mart in @sunteccity. Had a kimchi fried rice with cheese on a hotplate and it was pretty good though a bit too salty because of the cheese. One of the things I didn't like about this place was how the staff can be a bit rude at times, but other than that the food is pretty good and they give a variety of side dishes too 😋
Finally paid a visit to @breadandbutterbyxy's physical store and her bakes are still so good! Love how the buns were so fluffy and the sticky pecan bun wasn't too sweet plus the nuts gave it an extra crunch. The peanut butter brownie had a good peanut butter to brownie ratio with the brownie not being overly dense too. The goma and yuzu pound cakes were moist with light flavours while fragrant at the same time and the honey butter biscuit was crisp outside yet soft inside.
Tried the new Meow Barbecue recently and it was a pretty good place for no frills BBQ. For someone who likes spicy food, I liked the seasoned meats more especially the chicken which was a surprise! The beef was tender as well and everything was in thin slices so they cooked quickly too. They also have other small dishes that you can order and eat, we had the tofu which had really strong flavours so they go well with rice. I also liked how everything was quick and efficient which was great because I was very hungry then (which explains the lack of pictures) 😂
@bforbagel_official offers a wide variety of bagel flavours. I went on a weekday afternoon and it was still crowded (though there wasn't much of a queue) and the flavour I originally wanted (Bacon Cheese Omelette) was sold out so I had Jamon Butter instead! This looked simple but the ingredients complemented each other well and I enjoyed it a lot. I had this with a Salted Caramel Latte and I liked it more than I expected with the right balance of salty, sweet going together with the coffee flavours. I hope to be back to try the Bacon Cheese Omelette Bagel soon! 🤤
Tried @ginger.lilysingapore's afternoon tea recently and we enjoyed it quite a bit! The serving was rather large especially for the savouries, there was a good variety of items and we got to try different types of tea! The dessert stood out more than the savouries and my favourite item from the dessert is the Valrhona 46% Amatika Chocolate Cake, it was rich, chocolatey and moist at the same time 😍 The savoury items were rather normal but decent and my favourite item is the Iberico Ham Crostini because it was more unique.
I especially appreciated how the teas offered were more unique, they are from @gifeltea and they have a Ginger Lily House Blend too. I preferred the Ginger Lily in the kombucha form, served as their welcome drink and the tea I liked most served hot was the Singapore's Glory which features a floral blend of flavours. Overall, I thought this was quite value for money with good food and tea, along with a relaxing atmosphere and good service too! I would return again when their menu changes to try more items 😋
The boiled pork belly gave us a pleasant surprise with its super tender meat and we enjoyed this a lot. I hope to return for dinner to try the Jeju style kbbq! 🤤
I've read about how others described the Milyang-style Pork and Rice Soup to be similar to tonkotsu but sadly it was a very strong pork flavour which was different from tonkotsu and I didn't like it.
