We couldnāt help ourselves and almost ordered 1 of each baked good they had from tarts and cakes to rolls and bread. Pictured are the chocolate roll and seasonal fruit tart. The chocolate roll was so decadent with a tinge of sourness from the sourdough. The apple tart was not bad but forgettable. Another that we tried and liked was the rye hazelnut almond brownie.
We also got their sourdough loaf. Pretty gummy and moist on the inside, which was a challenge to slice even with a bread knife. I liked the sourness and how healthy it tasted, and Iām ok with how moist it is inside which I know a lot of ppl donāt like. I think it all boils down to personal preference.
Okay Iām going to say it - I donāt get the hype. I expected the kimchi jigae to be more sour and the japchae to be sweeter. I liked the pork bulgogi though! I think this boils down to personal taste preference but all in all, one canāt complain when the food is at such an affordable price point.
This was not bad at all! Enjoyed the tang from that green goddess sauce which paired well with the rosti. Egg was runny and perfect.
Loved this regular bowl, I had the salmon as my protein, quinoa/salad as my base, with eggplant, tofu and cauliflower as my sides. Everything tasted good especially the spicy miso tofu and miso salmon. Almond crusted cauliflower was soggy unfortunately. They have warm and cold sides, but it just seems like everything was cold š
Itās a small eatery with limited seating space, that is probably more suited for takeaways especially during lunch hour.
Price wise is average for salad bowls in the CBD. Adding $2.50 for salmon as my protein was painful to the wallet lol. Falafels and chicken have no additional charge, but they were already out of those by the time I ordered....
Located deep in the heart of Marina Bay Link Mall. We had the short rib beef, black pepper chicken and unagi rice bowls. The portion of the unagi was pleasantly surprising. Food was not bad as well! Price is average for CBD Japanese rice bowls of this sort.
I passed by and couldnāt resist stopping to take a look! And then I got swept up and bought a few to try. Minimum purchase is 50g for each pastry, which is around 3-4 of the mini pastries.
The cheese mochi was ok, tasted pretty bland as I was expecting some sweetness but it was instead savoury with no taste other than mild cheese. I wouldnāt get it again. The cheese cake however was good, it was soft in the middle and had a tangy flavour.
Not pictured but I also got the small matsuzo set (yogashi style sweet potato desserts) which included the pote koro, tomari potato and bucella. Not bad but I wouldnāt get it again. It was just sweet potato, I didnāt get hints of anything else or even a little pastry which wouldāve went well because I got a bit jelak towards the end of my first few bites.
The sweet potato rolls which looked really good, was also tasted not bad: soft, fluffy, topped with black sesame seeds and when I purchased it it was still slightly warm. But donāt expect significant chunks of sweet potato. The black sesame seeds ended up overpowering the flavour a little bit.
A very generous portion of lei cha! But for $6, it better be. Chock full of vegetables/rice and basil broth was not bad, but wayyyy too much garlic. I felt like every spoonful I had just had bits of raw garlic in it. I love garlic but this was overkill, my mouth just reeked of garlic the whole day so donāt eat this if you have face to face meetings š
The chili (which is the chicken rice chili in the same store) is the bomb though.
First time here so I went ALL out. I got the spicy miso ramen with with special full toppings, which included pork belly slices, soft boiled egg, onions, lettuce and bean sprouts.
Came with a thick flavourful umami broth with a good level of spice. As a meat lover I enjoyed the extra pork belly slices that came with the āfull toppingsā option. Onions brightened the dish and gave it an extra kick which I liked. The bean sprouts were crunchy and thankfully not soft. Also liked the shape of the noodles - not your run of the mill thin noodles, this one was wider and had a bit of girth to it.
However the noodles texture and egg were a bit of a disappointment - noodles were overcooked/too soft for my liking and the egg was not runny! But I guess this also boils down to personal preference. These are the 2 basic, most uncomplicated things I look for in a ramen restaurant. But theyāre not deal breakers. Iād still come back and try their tonkatsu or tsukemen next time.
Most chicken skewers are $2.50 each while most of the pork skewers were $3.50. Of all the ones I had, my favourite skewers were the chicken thigh, chicken giblet, chicken wings and pork slice wrapped with enoki. They even have some creative ones like noodles or rice wrapped with pork slices. For those who like liver, the chicken liver is also really well cooked, still tender and not over cooked. Wished there was more variety on the menu though.
As others say, the skewers are little towards the salty side but not a big deal. We also got the chicken soup which while good, was nothing special.
In-house handmade noodles with Braised Mushroom, Miso Tare, Sofrito, Fried Shallot, Sesame and Spring Onions. Savoury and sooo mushroom-y. A little salty but overall pretty good noodles!
Pan fried dumplings stuffed with Smoked Bacon, Truffle Potato, Caramelised Onion, Cheddar with a side of Sriracha Mayo sauce. Not bad if youāre looking for something different from your normal run of the mills Chinese dumplings.
Dark chocolate with mini marshmallows and cocoa bits. Ice cream isnāt as milky and dark chocolate isnāt very ādarkā as I expected but still a decent flavour!
