Ashamed to say that prior to this experience, I’ve only had Three Buns via delivery, and it has always been a delightful experience despite having it after it arrives. However, it seems like the burgers delivered have a higher standard than what I had recently dining in at the Quayside branch. The cheeky chic had a confusing combination of sauces - bbq ketchup and miso mayo, which the bbq ketchup obviously overpowered. The burger was slathered with cold coleslaw, which resulted in the burger being at a very odd temperature when consumed. To top it off, the coleslaw was so watery, which kept dripping out and made the whole bun soggy. Hoping that it was just a bad day for Three Buns but I doubt I’ll give up on them just yet, will go for my usual Baby Huey next time!
(We gave feedback about the coleslaw and the staff were very receptive about it😀)

Fluffy egg on rice which looks way too appetising with surprise pork bits beneath. A small bowl but honestly very worth it if you’re not a big eater and want to order more sides. While the egg was indeed fluffy and slightly runny, the entire bowl lacked flavour. But for the price and the free condiments they give at the side - chilli powder, mayonnaise, and even bean sprouts, you can easily solve the problem to make a whole new dish of your own!

I can’t even begin to describe how crowded 216 market is on a weekend, and when Chris Kway Chap is closed, the queue for Chai Chee Kway Chap gets even longer. Waited for around 1 hour just for my turn, and honest verdict - never again. Granted this was a decent bowl, with soft kway and herbal gravy, and actually very chew intestines. But that’s about it, nothing mind blowing nor worth fighting with the crowd. So queue at your own risk or choose a less crowded timing to try this!

Ending the meal off at Marcy’s with a wonderful dessert. The pecan pie sundae was heavenly, with rich, chewy, vanilla bean gelato surrounded by homemade pecan chunks, which was nutty and not too sweet. Everything went so well together, I even forgot how pretty expensive it was😂
Would definitely recommend this dessert, and on top of this, the whole Marcy’s experience. Amazingly executed food aside, the cosy ambience is to die for - we really need more restaurants with a vibe like this!

Not sure if this dish is highly raved about but if it is it is entirely deserving. My absolute favourite of the night. The brioche was wonderfully toasted with the perfect softness and crustiness. The blue manna crab came with such a generous portion, mixed with smoked enoki and packed with an umami flavour. I’m not sure if the sauce underneath is the umami butter, but if it is then it was absolutely delightful. The entire dish felt fresh, savoury, and overall delicious - I really couldn’t have enough!

Red wine braised octopus with beef tendon, a rich pasta dish that is good for sharing lest you feel too overwhelmed. I couldn’t really see the portion of ingredients because of the colour of the sauce and how it was really infused into the entire dish, but I thought that the portion of it was just right. The beef tendons were a tad too gelatinous especially for the thick sauce. Really good flavours to this dish though.

Loved the freshness of the amber jack that came with a slight sweetness. The base with tomatoes made it light and citrusy, which was very refreshing for the palate. A nice and delightful raw dish to start your meal!

A nice light flavour here, nothing too strong nor overwhelming but neither was it mind blowing. A very normal bowl of katsu don with two huge crispy breaded prawns. Highly recommend just going for the tonkotsu here for their premium pork loin!

One of my favorite tonkatsu places! Love the free flow cabbage that you can eat with every bite of the rice. The premium pork loin was really tender, while breaded and fried til very crispy. The miso sauce gave a nice peppery and savoury taste to it. Highly recommend!!

Was intrigued by the way dishes were served here when I walked past so decided to give it a try. Sampanman’s concept is serving an array of seafood on a sampan - either sampan sets that are available on the menu, or a sampan that you can build yourself with any seafood ingredients you want. They have flower crab, lobsters, prawns, clams, scallops, and mussels to choose from, so you’re guaranteed a feast. I went for the smallest (2-3pax) sampan, that was full of fresh prawns (600g), mussels (600g), flower clams (600g), half-shell scallop (4pcs) and 4 pcs of mantou, which was perfectly done and went perfectly well with the chilli crab sauce which was the sauce our choice. The sauce actually elevated the whole experience, with its slight spicy punch balanced with the sweetness. There are other sauces to choose from as well, and the salted egg and sambal egg sauce smelled amazing. As a side, every sampan set comes with a bowl of macaroni - which was personally a weird addition for me.
Though not pictured, I also tried their soup sets which was creamy and light, though slightly bland. But it’s a nice addition to the very heavy flavoured seafood sampan, so I highly recommend everything for sharing!✨

My favourite of the night! I love chilli dumplings and I love knife cut noodles, and Abundance did this so right. The sauce was so good - a nice punch of vinegar to make it appetising, a light umami flavour to give the noodles the required savouriness, and a good amount of chilli oil to give the noodles the smoothness it needs and that spicy punch. I’m not sure if their noodles are handmade, but the texture was somehow really well done. A nice bounce with every bite. The pork and shrimp dumplings were delightful as well. Evidently huge from the photo, and stuffed with a generous portion of filling. Though it could’ve been juicier, having a bite of the dumpling together with the noodles is satisfying enough for me. Highly recommend this dish if you loved red hot chilli dumpling noodles! Don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Prawn paste and minced greens on toast. Really liked this, especially the prawn paste flavour which reminds me of har jeong kai. The meat have a nice chewy texture to the toast, and the mayo by the side really have a nice creaminess to every bite. Highly recommend getting this appetiser to share!
