Boy I canā€™t wait for a return to @clapcafe.sg. The last time I was there, I got myself the sticky date cake ($12 nett) which wasnā€™t homemade but is definitely delectable. The cake dough itself isnā€™t sticky, but the caramel seductively drizzled all over makes it sweet & sticky. The cake itself was moist & delightfully dense, and reinforced with the faint fragrance of cinnamon. And of course vanilla ice cream & whipped cream really sweeten this already delightful deal.
ā €
Next time, Iā€™ll be over to clap their house made pastries. Their maple pecan tart looks like a tantalising choice, and so does their ravishing red velvet cake. Now thatā€™s worth clapping for.

Super smooth espresso that is definitely worth $2.50 in the CBD! Thereā€™s limited seating outside but you can always takeaway :)

Freshly made bagels from @onalu ! So paiseh to say that this is little Jia's first time trying a bagel šŸ¤§ IT WAS A GREAT VIRGIN TRY! šŸ’“
ā€”
Somethinā€™ Fishy ($11)Ā plain bagel is slightly dense on the outside but soft on the inside, with THICC portion of Norwegian smoked salmonšŸŸ, cream cheese, red onions, tomato, and topped with capers and dill. It all came very well together, a big bite provides you with a mouthful of salmon. If you don't mind a savoury bagel that has a slight salmon-fishy taste, you should try this!šŸ¤™ I would love to have slightly more cream cheese as it was kinda covered by the salmon taste. But their ingredients are really fresh and substantial! Overall, I would totally recommend you guys to try it! šŸ„Æ

Ordered smoke salmon + cream cheese and avo + egg.
Food is okay.

We had the Eggplant and Avo & Eggs Double Toasts with Lemonade ā€” total price at $21. The eggplant was warm and done pretty well. Overall okay dishes, nothing exceptional, but we did love the ambience of the cafe!

Most of the cakes and kuehs were sold out at this peranakan-inspired cafe when we reached, leaving us with a quick decision of Yuzu Cheesecake and Bandung Lychee Tart. The yuzu cheesecake had a citrusy-tang to it, and I really like the lychee boba and the rose-milk mousse on the bandung tart. As it was cold and rainy, the smooth and medium-bodied latte provided a nice warmth; and the hot chocolate was velvety smooth and rich with 60% couverture chocolate.

The cold brew wasnā€™t as fruity as others that Iā€™ve tried. If you prefer your coffee with nut milk, you should definitely try this! Thereā€™s a strong nutty taste with a great, smooth blend between the coffee and the milk.

The iced coffee with jelly was a pleasant surprise ā€” the jelly added a nice coffee kick. The coffee jelly melts in your mouth, adding a different dimension thatā€™s not too abrupt. You wonā€™t have to chew the jelly!

The muffin is made with Marou chocolate, a brand in Vietnam. I was delighted to find it here in Singapore! If you prefer your muffin to be on the denser side, this muffin may not be for you. It feels more like a cupcake than your normal dense muffin.

Overall, I loved coming here! Drinks are very worth it with Burpple Beyond. Plus points for great and very nice staff!

[Trehaus Cafe]
Location: Funan Mall

Pretty chill-vibes cafe inside a preschool ~
Previously I have reviewed on their matcha latte and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. This time itā€™s something similar but differentā€¦

šŸ“:
Dirty matcha -Always see this on some cafesā€™ menu but never really get to try. In case some might not know, itā€™s matcha plus espresso (caffeine overdosed matcha)! Sounds interesting right??? But wow it tastes so funky haha! It tastes like Seaweed and Bonito flakes. The description sounds funny but somehow thatā€™s what I get from it. Itā€™s not a bad tasting drink, because you will really get both the matcha and coffee taste, but I will just stick with matcha latte next time. Not sure if thatā€™s how itā€™s supposed to taste like but not gonna be adventurous again haha.

šŸ’µ:
U.P $6 but bought Chope voucher at $1 for any drinks on the menu.

šŸŒŸ:
Ratings 3/5!!!
ā€œNot nasty but acquired taste...ā€

Acai bowls are not only healthy, but super refreshing in the sweltering heat of sunny Singapore! Head to this kiosk, located in an IT shop in Funan, for their Supermodel Acai Bowl ($9.80) and their Iced W Signature White ($4.20). Craving chocolate? Opt for their Cacao Fantasy ($9.80) for a healthy rendition of a banana split chocolate milkshake ā€” think cacao nibs, cocoa powder, bananas and milk.

Got the truffle pasta and the margeritta pizza (both which I really liked). Prices are reasonable and is a comfortable space to meet to do work. Drink options are quite limited. We got a pot of tea which they allowed us to refill with water twice

My coffee lover of a friend, whom recently invested >$1k in a coffee machine & wares, vouched for the coffee here. Needless say we unequivocally enjoyed the different brews here; sorry Iā€™m too amateur to critique on the technical details but rest assured I can tell a bad cuppa brew when I have one.

Thanks to Burpplebeyond u get to pair the brew with good bakes - from a home baker herself šŸ˜¬
