Not really keen on this honestly. The bitter, floral, umami matcha taste was way too mild for my liking, which made it seem like another Milo drink. 😭 I’ll definitely stick to my usual Hot Coconut Chocolate drink. 🥴

I got what seems to be a million dollar shot of my lunch the other day! 😱 Went over to Golden Mile Food Complex for lunch because there’s just practically no good, affordable, halal eats in the area where I work.

This Nasi Goreng Ayam was actually pretty good! The lovable salty flavour was present in modest amount, and the crispy fried chicken came with fritters that were reminiscent of the ones you’d get on Goreng Pisang. Like…HELLO!!! Can you say shiok?!?! 😍 I’d come back in a heartbeat for this if my lunch hours lasted for hours!

Also, I don’t fully recall the name of the stall, but I did remember seeing “Nurhidayat” in the name. If anyone ever finds it, please let me know in the comments! Would love that for me and other Burpplers! 🤣🤙🏽

[Available on Burpple Beyond] This long weekend is a huge respite from the stresses and toxicity of daily life! And what a better way to finally reward myself for pressing on during the days leading up to it than with a bowl of açaí?! 😍🙏🏽

I know that from face value that it seems ridiculous to suggest that there’d even be a difference in quality of açaí bowls from dessert parlour to dessert parlour. However, I somehow felt that Project Açaí seems to have nailed this and outshone their competitors.

The fruits used are legitimately fresh, with none showing any sign of unpleasant tartness. Plus, some bites really pack a punch of flavour - I was really surprised, though I couldn’t really pinpoint it to a single ingredient. 😮

That being said though, I do feel like the staff could be a little more cheery in their interaction. It’s rather concerning that an açaí parlour geared towards millennials, wouldn’t embrace friendliness as part of their MO. Hope everything’s alright behind the scenes for them… 🥶

[Available on Burpple Beyond] Took an impromptu trip to Windowsill at Haji Lane to try redeeming their Burpple Beyond, but I figured I’d save it for another time instead. So I got their pie + drink deal for $12!

- There was a balance between the sweetness (natural and from the sugar) as well as the tartness from the cherries
- The crust didn’t really come off nicely with the cherry pie filling
- One slice isn’t really enough to elicit a good amount of satisfaction:
- The price is rather steep though, so if you can, opt to get it through Burpple Beyond or modes of payment that will get you cash back
- The dining environment is pretty unique – ordering at L1 and seats were available at L3, which is a tall order (literally) if you’re trying to hold your drinks on the tray steady 😂😫

This wasn’t all that bad really, but I suppose there is some room to make the experience more compelling. (6.9/10)

[Available on Burpple Beyond] I’m going to be straight up transparent – I work here. 😶 I know it’d be futile to try and review this, so I’ll just try and drop nuggets of information about the Immunity Booster (aka smoothie) without sounding too sales-oriented 😂:

▪️ It has Doki Doki’s Immunity Booster (Passionfruit with Camu Camu) instant superfood juice, banana and milk in the mix
▪️ I got this with an associate, claiming 1-for-1
Boosters with Burpple Beyond
▪️He got the Antioxidant Booster, which had blueberry instead of passion fruit. Objectively speaking, his was sweeter in comparison to this one
▪️ The smoothies you will get if you order will come in a smaller-sized cup than pictured

Burpple Beyond always makes my makan journeys better – I don’t really feel the pinch if I’m getting 2 for the price of 1! 🥰

▪️ You can expect to wait for about 30 mins on a weekday evening
▪️ It was nice of them to offer free flow of tea whilst we were waiting in the queue for our seats
▪️ The omurice set was of pretty good value ($9.90), even with the addition the teriyaki hamburg ($3)
▪️ My friend thought the fried rice could have used a little more flavour, but I felt differently
▪️ I thought its neutral taste was the perfect counterbalance to the to the umami-packed demiglace sauce and the chicken hamburg
▪️ My friend mentioned that the egg could have been silkier, while I thought it was not overly contrasting from the texturally softer ones in the dish
▪️ The addition of spicy chili flakes and dried parsley will make all the difference here
▪️ The highlight of the dish here was (un)surprisingly the chicken teriyaki hamburg. I noticed it was flavourful at every way through the patty

I remember having an awful breakfast and lunch beforehand, so it’s safe to say that this was the saving grace! I’m already having thoughts to go back if the opportunity ever presents itself. 😍 (7.7/10)

[Available on Burpple Beyond] This flavour was stunning - there was nothing grand about this, but it’s ability to be so flavourful yet so neutral in taste, that’s giving the other ice cream flavour a saffron for their money.

This place made for a great Sunday getaway from the weekday work stresses. Coupled with a favourite book, ooooof that’s my ideal way to recharge! 🥰 (7.9/10)

Had this when I was exploring new places during lunchtime at work and ended up walking around Aperia Mall. 🤩

- It’s ordinary in taste personally, and barely passable based on the opinions of some bubble tea connoisseurs I personally know
- The wintermelon taste is a little sharp and artificial, but I suppose the dairy aspect of the milk tea helps to somewhat neuter it
- You can’t choose the sweetness level for this one
- They have a rewards program using a physical card, so if you work around the area and often need your fix of bubble teas, HELLO BENEFITS! 🥳

To be honest, I was searching for salad bars, but I’m quite the sucker for uncommon flavours of drinks. 😅 This wasn’t that bad…perhaps something that’s gratifying enough to get by until the next cup of [insert popular chains here] if you’re a casual bubble tea drinker like myself hahaha.

Not sure if I’d say I regret getting this, but I do have my opinions on this one:

- It started out with a nice pandan-doused flavour, which to me evoked nostalgia, and a sense of comfort
- It also wasn’t too sweet, which came as a pleasant surprise to me
- However, it got jelak real quick because the topping added a density to every sip, which didn’t alleviate the fact that I was already having something that was protein-laden
- The topping really had my throat itching halfway through. Bring a bottle of water with you before having this…you’ve been warned 🤪

I guess I’ll have to give this one a miss the next time! I tried their Peanut Butter shake when I was in London last year, and that was a moment. (6.3/10)

I’ve condensed my thoughts into bullet points here:

- The burger is definitely smaller than the ones I had in London last year, but the difference is that this one’s more compacted
- The American cheese lent it an incredible amount of melty-ness. OOOOOF I’m still shaken by how fitting and good it was
- Mustard really amplifies this burger with its green, piquant flavour
- It is fast food ultimately, so do yourself a favour and not expect it to taste like a gourmet burger
- Your last bite at Shake Shack should be of this, and not anything else

I really enjoyed this one, no question about it. (8.5/10)

[Available on Burpple Beyond] This was some excellent cheese-only pizza. It’s so flavourful and creamy without being too rich. I had this with 4 other friends and truth be told - I’d not share this if I was given the opportunity to. 🥰😂

Ever since I’d been converted to an acai addict, I’ve found myself going back for a bowl once every week. It’s just so good in taste and it makes me feel better especially with the amount of fruits and health benefits that I’m gaining. 😅

Haakon’s Cacao Bliss Bowl was pretty alright - it got a little strange texturally when I was close to finishing it due to the chia seeds (correct me if I misidentified). I have nothing against them, I just feel that the combination of cocoa and chia seeds didn’t really gel well for me.

Still, you can bet I downed this whole thing unabashedly, especially since I had it on one of those Friday night-ins! 🤣
