Didn’t know what to expect, thought it’d be a β€œoh this is pretty good” kinda experience...but no this turned out as a β€œfuck me have I actually eaten a donut before this?!” type of situation. Read: these were fucking amazing. The texture of the donuts were mind-blowingly fluffy, pillowy, and just so so soft. My fingers left visible dents just trying to pick them up! They were also exceedingly light and not greasy at all, which made it so easy to just wolf one down in seconds (like I did). The winning factor here though has got to be how every donut was the PERFECT amount of sweet. They all look diabetic, but the donuts themselves are just very very lightly (almost indiscernibly so) sweetened so most of the sugar comes from the glazes instead. That means you can really taste the flavours from the glazes, the stellar donuts, and not die from a massive sugar overload after.

We were glad the Kuhlbarra Barramundi (1st pic) with Truffle pasta ($20.90) fared far better than their Teriyaki Salmon (2nd pic) with Truffle pasta ($10.90) and proved to be at least worth the price difference. The Barramundi was light and fresh where the Salmon had a strong fishy smell and taste.

The Chendol ($5.90) was simple & boring and lacked the strong flavours a good Chendol should have. Perhaps they were looking for a 'Healthier' version πŸ€”. The Caramelized Goreng Pisang (Banana Fritters) with Vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce ($8.90?) was commented to be hard, with the banana lacking the sweetness banana fritters should have with an attempt to coat the sweetness through the caramel syrup. The ice cream was a basic ice vanilla ice cream with less bean notes.

Lesson to be learnt: Order the Mains, spare the desserts. (Perhaps try their appetizers OR spend those calories on Mr Teh Tarik SG drinks instead!) #Burpple #BurppleSG #tenderfresh #tenderbest #makcikmarket #localfood #SGrestaurants #Halal #foodie #SGfoodie #Burpplereview

Sheikh Haikal knows his burgers I'm guessing! @fatpapas was a treat. The sesame seed buns were soft yet had enough texture to hold the beef patty when knifed. The beef patties were juicy yet held enough to not crumble. Very flavourful. The option of customizing the burgers came as a treat though the optional add-ons were rather pricey ($1 for 5 pickles! Yes, I counted). The sauces offered were plentiful and rather unique (peanut butter and sambal? πŸ€¨πŸ€”) and the overall experience of eating at the diner was pleasant.
The ambience was accommodating and the staff were rather attentive and helpful (no service charge guys!) Which made the whole experience enjoyable. Came in not expecting much and left with a desire to return.

Found myself comparing this to the recent Kava's Coffee burgers... Kava's don't qualify a fight.

Izakaya:

Is a Japanese-style pub. This means you'll have alcohol as well as food, but instead of everyone receiving their own main dish, the standard procedure is for everyone to order lots of small, typically inexpensive dishes that are shared by everyone around the table, ordering subsequent rounds along with accompanying drinks.

The grilled meat platter is solid (not literally). And @hararu.izakaya is one of the few places where you can get Halal Beer and Japanese food in SG. Great place to hang with friends after a work day (like the Japanese do) eating and drinking your heart away. Watch out for the smoke from the grill though. It will attract attention from everyone else in the room who's NOT in the mood for smoke.

Keen to be back to try more.

#Throwback to Mother's Day dinner in Ramadhan @bluejasmine.sg a day before their Ramadhan menu.

Food was decent, spread was limited and the only thing thoroughly enjoyed was the Sticky Mango Rice and Coconut Soft Serve.

Ok lah... #Burpple #BurppleSG #bluejasmine

Crisp, flaky exterior typical of a croissant with a buttery, chew-worthy interior. Their croissant dough are mixed with mochi (rice cakes) laboriously for hours to produce these large sized treats πŸ˜‹. The Matcha was a match-ah for me. Rather decent matcha flavour glazed atop the croissant, hid away layers of rich, dark chocolate within.

It proved to be a hit in my buds in comparison to the Lemon Curd, which I found to be too 'curd-y' sour.

They even have Bubble Tea flavours for those adventurous enough or have a fondness for all things bubble tea to try. Outlets are limited and baked sold out early so be sure to get your hands one 1! Or 2... or in this case, a box! They're πŸ‘πŸ‘. #Burpple #BurppleSG #brotherbirdbakehouse #mochicroissants

The Sashimi grade salmon had a crisp layer of skin, tender fish meat that was not too under or over cooked and best of all, no fish smell or taste! πŸ˜‹ The accompanying Crispy Salmon skin was a welcome addition 😍 but it was not as crispy as I expected.

The bed of mashed potato provided a good base as it balanced out the meat with some comforting carbs + charred broccoli was πŸ‘. It was good! #Burpple #BurppleSG #foodie #foodexploration #yishunparkhawkercentre #yishunparkhawkercentre

Sceptical at first, but YOLO - The marination of the chicken thigh in Kopi Gao paid off.
The robust aroma of the kopi whiffed in the air as I took it out from the microwave. Earthy aroma with a full, thick body.

The chicken itself was tender and seemed to melt away in the mouth. The smooth texture of the juicy chicken thigh provided for less chew and complimented the overall flavour of the kopi marinade.

Reminiscent of the Peranakan style of cooking, this Yummy Kopi Chicken would be 1 β˜• in terms of strength, and 2 πŸ‘πŸ‘ in terms of satisfaction!

I'm a big fan of sandwiches and Roast Beef just echoes out to me. Most roast beef sandwiches however fail to impress with skinny steaks of beef and having a bread > meat ratio. . @thecoffeeshot does really decent sandwiches with crisp breads, right amount of rockets and fair portions of meat.

Coffee is great, place is nice and cosy.
I'm eyeing those cakes. Will return! 😁

Still my go-to for wholesome, tasty nutrients. The daily cut (Tanjong Pagar here) serves delicious, nutritious options of food for an awesome post workout meal or simply any nutrient-boosting meal!

Pictures here, you can see how the Steak is medium, and the carrots glazed. Regular = 1 carb source, 3 toppings, 1 protein, 1 seasoning and a dressing ($10.90). A bit higher on the price range but for quality ingredients and taste, definitely hits the right nutrient note!

Pretty unassuming dish - spinach scrambled eggs (green eggs) served with crisp toast and cherry tomatoes.

Blown away by the simple dish, rich flavour and wholesome nutrient boost.

Mandalay Villa - Bali.
