A decent medium rare sirloin steak for dinner.
Was quite disappointed that they serve deep fried potato wedges as side dish.
This kale salad will change your mind about this green. Bitter, yes, but that sweet and tangy acar vinaigrette does wonders to balance out the flavours. Love the added crunch in the dish from the nuts.
The boy had this with buffalo chicken and shallots and gave it his thumb of approval. I didn’t get a bite
There’s a small section of the menu here dedicated to yakimono. Stick with the classics like the chicken skin that’s super crunchy. The eggplant however is different; cheese is melted on it which adds to the saltines, which I found a bit too heavy.
What an amazing Omakase! Utterly loved every bite and wait, we still have desserts.
The new menu from frisson feature some serious guilty pleasure. The deep fried chicken coated with Korean spicy sauce, fried egg with gooey yolk, fries and waffle.
The Korean spicy sauce really give a kick for your tastebud.
Tender barbecued ribs, with enough meat on the bones to feed two! The sweet, caramelly glaze is great with the savoury meat, only wished there was more sauce for dipping. Use your hands for this, as with the addictive deep fried lotus root chips. The watermelon mint yoghurt salad will make a nice, refreshing end to the meal.
There are also other sides to choose from, like the celery sticks with blue cheese and Southern style coleslaw.
Tropicana Avenue’s latest yakitori bar is where it’s at for cheap beer, good food and for a place that’s away from the city’s hustle and bustle. The skewers are good. All of them come with a nice char and smokiness that gives extra flavour like the Thigh with leek – so much extra sweetness in the leek! The okra was a pleasant surprise with a nice crunch.
I forgot what’s the name of this dish, but it’s really good! Le food is a cafe that served vegetarian meals. They have a very small and nice garden where people will definitely take a photo of (who doesn’t like neon lights HAHAH) however, if you’re a morning person like me, please do note that even though their opening hour written is 10am but they would only open their doors at 10.30am 😃
The burger/pasta sets at Kaizen x August Cafe (their kitchen) are very good value for money. An additional RM2 gets you coffee or tea, along with your main.
The smoked salmon pasta is somewhat of a hybrid between mentaiko and carbonara. It’s creamy, with a slight brightness that probably comes from cooking the smoked meat. That also means instead of smoked fish, you’ll get cooked salmon flakes in your pasta.
Loaded with carrots, beans and peas, the veggies are cooked in a rich coconut and cashew curry that’s out of this world. There’s a tinge of sweetness, and thank goodness for that as it’s pretty fiery. I soaked my briyani with this.
