As expected, eggs were perfectly poached. However, the eye-opener was the bunga kantan hollandaise sauce and beetroot-cured salmon. The distinctive character of the bunga kantan only presents itself when the sauce is eaten on its own - otherwise, its flavor merely complements the overall dish. Which is amazing, considering how domineering the bunga kantan can be. The same can be said for the salmon. The eggs sit on two croquettes - perfectly cooked with a crispy exterior and warm, moist potato-ey fillings seasoned with chives and onions. Missus thinks the croquettes were outstanding.

The main attraction has to be the Rise & Shine Egg Drop Toast (RM22) - perfectly scrambled eggs with cheddar, caramelised onions, sriracha aioli and Sarsi-glazed beef bacon sandwiched between sweet Hawaiian buns. There's only two ways about it - scrambled eggs can only be done well or come out overcooked and under-seasoned. Tapestry's scrambled is of the former - even the ingredients' flavors complement each other without dominating the palate.

Today, we finally tried the dry version - it turned out to be pretty yummy too. The sauce is thick with a nice savoury-sweet combination that goes well when mixed together with the hor fun.
Refreshing nitro cold brew for a warm day.
No kitty was sacrificed in the enjoyment of this coffee.

"Special" comes with addition of chicken chasu, seasoned egg 🐣and seaweed. Broth was very rich and creamy; we like that the chasu slices were tender and flavourful. Chicken was confirmed fresh without that "defrosted chicken taste".

For an extra kick, go for the Onikara Paitan - literally, devil's spicy ramen with EVERYTHING 😈. Well, it's not THAT devillish spicy, but it does turn the heat up a bit.

An offshoot of the main Seimenka Kaguraya store in Tokyo, Kagura Ramen @ Lot 10 serves a seriously good bowl of ramen. 🍜
Kagura's ramen is pork-free and uses chicken 🐔 as well as imported stock (konbu, dried Hokkaido cuttlefish, bonito, Seto seaweed salt) - yielding one of the most umami-rich and collagenous broth.
This is probably my favourite place for chicken-based ramen in KL - the soup profile is very similar to tonkotsu - yet not too oily or salty until rasa jelak. The soup is definitely very complex thanks to the mix of stock used but very pleasing.
I ordered the base choice - Tori Paitan (creamy chicken broth) with EVERYTHING (charsiu chicken thigh, ajitama egg, minced chicken etc.) for RM17.80.
The soup base was very tasty - rich, creamy, but not too overwhelming.

Mahfren who loves Smoked Salmon enjoyed her choice (RM25.80) - she noted the salmon is slightly baked, which added texture and complexity to the smoky taste. Please don't mind her masam muka #sourdoughface.

My go-to (and probably the most popular) has to be the Oven-braised Chicken Sandwich 🐔🥖 (RM18.50) - sliced chicken breast with cheese 🧀, tomatoes 🍅 between two sourdough slices.
I always find the sandwich to be substantial (I only managed half a serving that day) and the chicken slices are quite thick.
Tommy's sourdough are served warm - which gives it a nice soft middle with a crispy crust.

Yum Yum Brinjal (RM12) - perfectly deep-fried brinjal fries 🍆 that are soft in the middle with a crispy exterior. The brinjal is garnished with what we believe to be he be (dried shrimps), salted vegetables and dried chilli. So so so so good! What's great is that it's never too oily.

The signature Yum Yum Egg is a highlight - tofu topped with minced meat, with surprise runny eggs in the middle.

We quite like Yum Yum's version of pandan chicken - spices were very balanced and chicken was moist and tender.
