Usually when we get this back in Asia, it will be extremely spicy. However, in order to accommodate Americans' taste, this dish was evolved to a mixture of sweet and spicy. The key difference however, was how fresh the pork tasted. American meat always made fusion food even better!

Prawns were huge, and big love for the free flow crayfish! Choose between 2 soup bases (Tom Yum & Chicken) or you could also make your own rojak here!
There's another interesting concept - Shell Out ($22 per person) dishing out huge trays of louisiana style seafood (they have it in Chili or black pepper). Prices seems really reasonable ππ» Just a heads up that drinks' prices were a little steep here.
Curry laid coleslaw stacked onto a huge size fried chicken fillet and in between burger buns. It was truly a revolutionary dish for me. It has been some time I ever visited a place that isn't too pricey, and yet with a great ambience. When I had the meal, an old couple was sitting right beside me, maybe because the woman was an Asian too, they accidentally charged my food to their bill before they left. And here it goes, they paid for my share and I had a free meal. They left in such natural way I didn't know my meal was paid until I asked for the check. Whoever you are out there, thanks for making my day!
WhyTF is it called WTF? Well, Chris, chef-owner of Ah Bong's Italian explained that was exactly what he exclaimed when he read the recipe. But he isn't revealing what goes into this tasty WTF Pasta. Only two people have made correct guesses so far. And nope, I wasn't one of them. WTF right?! π
So, the big question is: WhoTF is going to be number 3? π
Mains ranges between $8 to $12 & you can complete it with a side & drink for $5!
My favorite was Bird's Nest ($10)! A simple main of Korean glass noodles (tanghoon), paired with marinated spicy chicken, onsen egg & tobiko! The glass noodles had such the right amount of sauce that made it extremely savory & easy to finish up. Pair it with the spicy chicken and adding the yolk for extra creaminess complemented it!
If you're looking for something more substantial, you can DIY-Don! You can choose from a variety of carbs, too it with a side & main for just $8! Pretty worth it I'd say!
Rated as the best fish and chips in San Francisco, this stationary food truck certainly deserves its status with the amazingly fresh fish and shrimps. The ignorant me didn't know that how originally fish and chips were eaten with vinegar and it was truly a brand new experience for me! I certainly loved the cocktail sauce that came with it! Fries were amazingly fried, much thicker than the usuals, a must eat for SF visitors!
I've had my fair share of shoyu broths and never found them to be particularly good; but this, I take my hat off to. The clear soup's immensely earthy, fragrant from the abundance of clams and seafood used in creating the dashi base, and no less rich than a tonkotsu base β quite like a good consommΓ©.
Must say I fell head over heels in love with the homely shio soup too! It tasted like something Mama would've made if she were a badass Michelin chef: hearty and comforting. Die-hard Tonkostsu fans, don't knock them till you've tried them.
SautΓ©ed pork with fresh shrimps served with dry ramen in spring onion Oil. Reminds me of those θ±ζ²Ήι’ I ate in Shanghai and the serving is pretty good such that I wasn't too full or overwhelmed by it.
Legit Chinese noodles at pocket friendly prices. Left my earphones here and lucky that the boss kept it for me. Handmade noodles are shiok and so tangy and it felt so homely. Sadly they are closed for a month temporarily and I have to wait till next month for the next visit!
Costing less than 10 USD, this is one of the most affordable and tasty ramen I have ever ate in USA. Char Siew was tender and juicy, each sip of the ramen broth makes me crave for the noodles more and more. We even ordered a refill of the Ramen noodles with different thickness to try out the the different textures and overall taste with the broth. #toogood
Good steak with a fuss-free experience.
@braseiro_sg is a simple Brazilian-French influenced restaurant without the over-the-top, fancy decor. It's just a place that focuses on giving patrons a good meal.
I had a great medium-rare flame grilled ribeye steak (S$19.90/24.90/29.90 for 200/300/400g respectively). It's one of the few places that get the doneness spot on. The meat can get a bit chewy but overall very tender. However, for that price, I have zero complaints!
The restaurant also serves beef skewers and roasted chicken as its signature meats. With any order of its signature meats, it comes along with free flow lettuce and the oh-so-addictive handmade fries.
The hand cut fries had the skins still on and went so well with the various dips and sauces available. I could have stayed all night just munching down the fries.
