From Blanco Court Prawn Noodle
Item 6. 虾面
Classic local comfort food.
Prawns sliced half to reduce the effort of munching it off the shell.
Highly recommended!
We ordered the classic style of prawn noodles as it is our comfort food. We had it with yellow noodles but you can choose to have Kway Teow, Vermicelli or even thick Bee Hoon. The dry version of prawn noodles was accompanied by a bowl of strong flavour soup. It was satisfying. The yellow noodle was tossed in chilli and crispy pork lards that elevate the taste.
Prawns in the bowl were halves and served with bean sprouts as well as kang kong. The fried shallots added fragrance to the dish but were not oily.
We have seen the long queues at Blanco Court Prawn Noodles Everytime we walked past and we decided to give it a try today! We got item number 1 of the menu thinking that would be one of their signature items, and it came with three prawns, 3 pieces of pork ribs and around 3 pieces of pig tails as well! The pork ribs were tender while the pig tails were soft and fatty. The gigantic prawns used at Blanco Court Prawn Noodle were the highlight of the dish and they have already been peeled for you so it's a big plus for those of you who don't want to get messy eating prawns outside! The soup was really delicious and with it's rich flavour, one can tell that it has been simmered with prawns for a really long time.
Nonetheless, the dish does not come cheap and it was priced at a whopping $11! In addition, as it can be pretty crowded on weekends, you may want to visit on a weekday when the crowd is a lot more bearable! 😁
Fresh and firm prawns with soft and tender pork ribs in a savoury prawn broth that is so hard to resist. While the normal prawn noodle has 6 halve prawns, the prawn and pork ribs noodle comes with 3 halve prawns and 3pcs of pork ribs 》$5.90
I have been hopping around to try this family series of prawn noodle stalls run by different siblings. I found they do have a similarity like having a ngoh hiang stall within their shop but I have never once tried if they were good.
I ordered the normal prawn noodle that comes with 3 prawns (6 halves), kang kong, bean sprouts and pork lard. The prawns were fresh, firm and easily de-shelled. One thing I find myself going around to try their prawn noodles was for their robust and savoury prawn broth achieved from long hours of boiling 》$5.90
The mix of prawn and pork ribs comes in 3 sizes, small ($5), medium ($9) and large ($11). The price refers mainly to the size of the prawns. I like the soup. It’s the dark brown type that’s not very prawn-y but still very tasty, and it doesn’t have much MSG. Prawns are appropriately sized for the price. Not my favourite bowl of prawn mee, but this is definitely one of the better bowls around. Some of the aunties are rather grumpy, and one repeatedly chased us away from our table.
🍜 Prawns with pork ribs noodles (S$5.90). The soup is yummy and the pork ribs tender.
🌤 Ordered some ngoh hiang to go with the prawn mee. This stall is just beside the popular Blanco Court Prawn Mee. I went there at 9am weekend, so theres seats available and no queue.

Can’t remember how much was it as I had this some time back. I love both dry and soup version, will order depending on my mood 😂 I usually go for smaller prawns as I am lazy to deal with shells 🤭
Can’t remember how much was it as I had this some time back. I love the prawn mee here, be it soup or dry. Dry one comes with extra bowl of soup as well so you won’t miss out on the super shiok soup. I prefer the one with smaller prawns as it’s easier to eat (lesser shells). But portion too small for me, luckily there’s this ngoh hiang stall beside for me to 加料.
4.5 ⭐ Back at one of SG best prawn mee after 2 years. I had the 3 in 1 combo while WB had the Jumbo prawn noodle. Ordered Fried Ngor Hiang and share among the 4 of us.

One of the more savoury and famous prawn noodle located on Beach Road, behind Haji Lane, is frequently visited by like-minded locals and travellers 😄. Thus, you should not give this a miss if you haven't tried this yet ☺️

Our recommended must-try will unanimously be the 🍜🦐Jumbo Prawn Noodle ($8.90/$10.90). 🤤I remember it was drizzling outside and near to closing time but they didn't run out at all so we were lucky to slurp on dry/soup prawn noodles that comes with really huge jumbo prawns! 😋 Its prawn mee's broth was perfect and great for any other day indeed and I'll definitely be back anytime soon! Have a great weekend then yall 🤗
📍 Blanco Court Prawn Mee, 243 Beach Rd, #01-01, Singapore 189754. Opens daily (except Tuesday) from 7am to 4pm.
Jumbo prawns are abit overrated cos u know how they're gonna taste imo. The pig tail and pork ribs were v tender, but what's most stunning about them was their intense porky flavour. Sambal was decent but not great, while their yellow Noodles were thinner than normal and had some Spring, though it still got that sticky starchiness. Their soup was absolutely intense, though more porky than seafood-tasting.
We liked that the mixed bowl had pork skin on top of the usual ribs and tail. The broth tasted of rich prawn but this wasn’t our favourite so far, whether for a light and sweet broth or rich one that didn’t have too much of the prawn head roe taste.
They also offered Ngor Hiang which was a good side to go along with.
🍜🍤 Popular Blanco Court Prawn Noodles. I got the basic bowl (S$5.90) with mix bee hoon mee. I like the soup, its not too sweet or salty, just nice. The prawns were fresh. Recommend 👍
Blanco Court prawn mee has always been in the running for best prawn mee in Singapore. Came in with high expectations and it didn't disappoint. The soup was umami enough with the prawn stock and they definitely used a good amount of pork giving the soup a certain bit of sweetness. The prawns were relatively big even though I did not get the upgraded prawns. Would come again.
Ordered the $5.80 for for mixed pork ribs and prawn mee. The queue is insanely long when I was there during the lunch crowd but it's worth a try! The ngoh hiang stall next door is good too as it doesnt come with an oily aftertaste!
Had a craving for this ever-popular prawn mee and ordered their prawn and pork ribs noodles ($5.90).

Their highlight is of course their intensenly concentrated prawn broth, with that mouth-watering murkiness. But I wanted to try the dried noodles.

The dried noodles were actually really good too. The noodles achieved the right amount of firmness and chewiness, whilst the chili was absolutely flavourful and robust, also delivering a strong potent kick of heat. Topped with some fragrant shallots and pork lard, the crunchiness of these components brought out a delightful mix of textures.

The pork ribs were also immaculately cooked to a crazily satisfying tenderness. The prawns though, were decent but nothing special. It is really a great bowl of prawn mee, and you can understand the crowd it draws.
This has to be the best prawn mee in Singapore. Robust flavours and sweet, firm prawns will surely give you an explosion of flavours in your mouth. The soup was packed full of prawn-y goodness and has a depth of flavour.
