Established in 2001 by Misniati Binte Sagio, this long-serving stall is now co-run together with her daughters. Popular for their high-quality, authentic, and affordable rendition.
.
Their unique green-hued rice is naturally infused with coconut milk and pandan / screwpine leaf essence, fluffy moist in texture and carrying a distinct grainy earthy floral sweet flavour. The egg omelette patty is springy soft with eggy savoury flavour, while the deep-fried ikan bilis / anchovies are crispy crunchy with fishy salty savoury flavour.
.
The breaded fish surimi fillet is springy tender with sweet savoury flavour, while the battered chicken sausage is snappy springy with meaty salty savoury flavour. The battered chicken wing is crispy tender with smoky meaty savoury spice flavour. The sambal tumis / stir-fried chili paste is chunky with sweet savoury salty spice flavour, the heat lingering slightly on the palate.

Runned by a mother and daughter, Pak Mandir is a mecca for excellent and affordable nasi lemak in the Yishun area.

There was a really long queue at Pak Mandor even on an early Sunday morning and some of the ingredients like the (legendary) begedil were sold out.

That said, the key to a good nasi lemak is the rice and Pak Mandor's version aced it. Ignoring the artificial looking bright green colour, the coconut and pandan infused rice was soft, fluffy, aromatic and savoury. It's one of the best I have had and all I need is the spicy and savoury samba chilli to go with it and the really really awesome ikan bills which they refuse to sell on its own but was shattering crisp and tasty!

You’re not a Yishun kia if you haven’t try this yet. Ultimate hidden find. Secret is in the rice!
Their chicken wing is soso nia though.

At Pak Mandor Nasi Lemak, you can pick your favorite ingredients ala carte but I simply pointed to the photo on the signboard and told the kak kak that I wanted the same combination which consisted of coconut rice, a fried chicken wing, a fried kuning fish, an omelette and the usual condiments like peanuts, ikan bilis, cucumber and sambal chili.

I thought a combo like this with both fried fish and fried chicken would have cost at least $4 but no, all these cost just a mere $3!

Feature Pak Mandor Nasi Lemak.
The fragrant coconut rice, with crispy chicken and sausage.
Prefer the sambal chilli more spicy though.
