Broadway have 2 varieties of chicken to choose from. The kampong chicken is slightly more expensive and smaller.

Today decided to get the normal chicken, $10 portion.

Generous amount of salted fish which made this claypot rice taste so good.

The chicken also fresh, tender and taste good.

The only thing missing here is a chilli to eat this with. The chilli provided is for their bak kut teh.

With more than 30 years of history, you know they are doing well when there are a number of people having claypot rice in the coffee shop. They cooked the claypot rice upon order hence the long waiting time.

It was served drizzled with dark soya sauce, bits of dried salted fish and a substantial portion of chicken and Chinese sausages. The rice was well cooked, not being too dry or lumpy. If you are someone who likes to dig and scrap those burnt and charred rice at the sides and bottom of the claypot, this is somewhere you will definitely have to visit 》$20/3pax

Really decent neighbourhood claypot rice found here, heard that they have been selling for over 30 years already! Chicken meats were tender, while the rice was pretty fragrant with lots of charred bits (锅巴) at the bottom. Other ingredients include lup cheong and salted fish. They offer two kinds of chicken here, normal or kampong chicken (additional $1), will try the latter version next time.

😋Claypot rice in Ang Mo Kio. S$15 size enough for 3 persons. Value for money with lots of chicken meat. This coffee shop is about 7 minutes walk from AMK bus interchange.

Great for lunch, great for sharing, great when you’re feeling cold on a rainy day.
All was good except some parts that were slightly over burnt. Claypot smell was there all right 😉

With more than 3 decades of history, this is the most talked about claypot rice in Ang Mo Kio. With a choice of choosing between “normal chicken” or “kampong chicken”, we opted for the former which was slightly cheaper.

The rice wasn’t too dry or lumpy, so I could still savour the individual tasty rice kernels. Some pieces of the chicken were slightly overcooked and tough, but the savoury pieces of lup cheong made up for it. Lastly, I feel that more salted fish could be added in.
