๐Ÿ“Carpenter and cook (beauty world)

Ordered very standard brunch items such as big breakfast [$28], pulled pork eggs Benedict [$25] , french toast [$28] and smoked salmon eggs Benedict [$26]

The one that stood out to me was smoked salmon eggs benedict as the eggs were nicely poached and the salmon was well seasoned:)

Passionfruit tart [$8] had a good mix of citrus and sweetness while the banofee [$8] one was eye opening as i have never tried a combination of tiramisu and banana in the form of a tart

Raspberry lychee and rose chia sweet was suppppppper yummy 10/10 recommend!! Could taste all the flavours and the fake flowers definitely added a flavorful touch to it . Lemon meringue cake [$8] might be a little too sour for my liking :<

Ambience of the cafe was v old school and homely !! Had 1-1 deals for the mains, desserts and drinks but otherwise would be rather pricey for the tiny portions:โ€(

1-for-1 Beverage: We liked the ๐—œ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—•๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ ($6) for its fruity profile, while the smooth and robust ๐—™๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ ($6.50) was very palatable.

We also tried one of the pastries, ๐—ค๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—ฐ ($6.50). Berries sitting on cream adorned a longish bun that boasted the crispy, flakey texture of a croissant. Not only did it look like royalty, it tasted exquisite too.

The pastries and coffees at @carpenterandcook impressed, and I'd return for them. Skip the minuscule mains.

Most cafes have two poached eggs and two muffins (or equivalent) in their Eggs Benedict dishes, but the ๐—ฃ๐˜‚๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ ๐—˜๐—ด๐—ด๐˜€ ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐˜ here has only one each. The palm-sized sandwich and widowed Eggs Benedict are definitely overpriced without the 1-for-1 deal.

Carpenter and Cook, whose owner trained at the prestigious Cordon Bleu in London, specialises in pastries which are baked in-house. We checked out some of the Burpple 1-for-1 deals on offer here.

1-for-1 Brunch: We felt the portions of both the ๐—–๐—น๐˜‚๐—ฏ ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜„๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ต ($25) and ๐—ฃ๐˜‚๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ ๐—˜๐—ด๐—ด๐˜€ ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐˜ ($23) were really small. They tasted decent, but weren't worth writing home about.

I liked their Instagram page and got a free tart ๐Ÿฅฒ will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu. Nice spacious seating and great atmosphere.

A laminated pastry topped with cream cheese, jam & berries. Cream cheese was rather sweet, surprisingly not much of a tang. Not soggy, but could be crispier. It's a pleasant snack, but I don't think I would repurchase. Quite a large portion, bigger than the average croissant - thankfully we had 4 to share amongst.
