The dim sum item must order for me is the mushroom char Siew bun. Shape like mushroom, the soft bun filled with char Siew.
The Pao fan comfort food,flavourful and fragrant.
Its comes with the rice grains, bits of diced chicken,mushroom and crackle of fried rice crisps that will tossed into the pao fan to add extra texture ( swipe to see the video )

What a huge bowl! - was our first reaction when this dish was served. The soup flavour was very homely and comforting - the fragrant taste of spring onions and ginger is quite strong, definitely something suitable for a cold, rainy day. Donโ€™t expect something umami like your other atas paofan bowls with lobster or seafoods - this one is a simple no frills paofan.

Staff were friendly. We visited on a Friday evening and easily got seats for three. Overall experience here was not bad.

Very simple dish, but very flavourful and fragrant.

It's above average dim sum, the mushrooms char siew bao ($3.6) is soft with Char siew filling.
The siew mai ($4.5) and Sichuan Chilli oil wanton ($4.8) have thin skin Meanwhile Deep fried prawn dumpling skin was crispy and all inside filled with fresh prawns.
Only the Steam chicken Claw ($4) a bit too sweet for my liking.

Fried radish cake ($4.20++)

Tastes alright.. quite homely. But can be firmer. Chilli that came with it tastes good!

Crispy char siew buns (3 PCs for $4.80++)

The filling was on the sweeter side.. tastes like the kind of filling u have in charsiew bread from old school bakeries. Overall was okay but not fantastic.

Chef Pao Fan ($7.60++)

Rice in broth which tastes so healthy and yummy at the same time! There was chicken and crispy haebi inside.. as well as some finely chopped vegetables and ginger.

The small portion is already enough for at least 2 people to share!

ASMR ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿป These prawns were fried to crispy perfection with just the right amount of batter, not too thin and not too thick, that was extremely satisfying yet not too jelat! Not much salted egg taste, but they definitely do know how to deep fry these beauties ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Makes me excited to come back to try their Har Cheong Gai!! Great service and feels very homely, we came 45 min before closing and they didnโ€™t rush our meal/chase us out, props for great customer service! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Exactly the rainy day food we all need but not the one we deserve ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ cause itโ€™s so friggin good ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ Was already initially caught offguard by how the soup sizzled furiously when the fried rice grains were added in, but was even more blown away when I tasted the glorious soup! The soup tasted so full and developed that they definitely used lots of ingredients and boiled it with love over many hours to produce this precious baby. With bits of meat and vegetables, this is possibly the best Teochew-style porridge I have ever taste (amazing fish soup aside). Definitely a must must must try! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

A traditional delicacy enjoyed during Chinese New Year. Using only large red dates, it is first boiled and subsequently made into a puree. Besides just red dates, coconut is also added into the mix. These cakes are sticky in texture and have a lemak fragrance and taste. I attempted to eat the cake layer by layer and failed. This was my first time trying it and itโ€™s definitely not my last. Itโ€™s good!!

Our smoked chicken is based off a traditional Hong Kong recipe. East Bistro chooses to use only Kampung chicken for its tender meat, the chicken is steamed to retain the moisture and its natural flavours. Check out the details of the meat texture, itโ€™s so soft!

Helmed by renowned Lei Gardenโ€™s former head Chef, East Bistro is a food gem hidden across the road, opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre. Offering a wide range of exquisite dim sum and Tze Char dishes, it can be a great option for fambam gatherings in comfortable air-conditioned environment.

Reasonably priced without any GST or Service Charge, the array of dim sums did not disappoint at all ๐Ÿ˜‹.

Order the crispy prawn rolls I think they do it very well here!! And this ๆณก้ฅญ dish which isn't very common but very hearty and warm on a cold day. It's this thick soup with a lot of veggie bits and fish and the brown bits are rice which are pan fried and freshly poured into the soup to give the taste a crunch factor. Yum!! And only $7.90. I wish they're on food delivery I sure order often.

Its been awhile since we last had this taste.
Special menu is available for the weekend, i.e Crispy Egg Tart & Salted Egg Oozing Croissant ๐Ÿฅ Can't wait to go back again for their main courses like rice, noodles and meat dishes!

"Mushroomโ€ char siew bao which looked like two oversized Shitake mushrooms served in a traditional bamboo steamer. The bun was extremely soft and fluffy.

Other than the well known white bee hoon at this area, the next hidden gem would be this dim sum shop!

East bistro is own by a Hong Kong chef and they serve really good dim sum and the main point is affordable.

I would recommend the lui sha bao, the roasted pork (had it only yesterday), the prawn roll, egg tart and their porridge is the signature! So make sure u tried these ๐Ÿ˜‹

The charsiu pao here is tasty and less oily too! Tried both their signature dishes as well- ็ˆ†็ฒฅand crispy noodle with prawns.. it was a surprise that they give quite a lot of prawns and sauce is light.

If you are staying around the North area and looking for a decent air-conditioned zichar dinner, this is the place to be! Their dim sum menu is not available at night (will try it one day and update!), but surprisingly their main dishes did not disappoint! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป3 dishes for $23. Salted egg pork ribs (fried) was an interesting dish but really good(tho quite few pieces). I loved their ไธ‰่›‹่œ- the soupy sauce is very fragrant! Lastly, the fried rice. Tasty with a slight burnt wok taste ๐Ÿ˜‹ really a good place to enjoy comfort Chinese food in air-con in the north!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Rating: 4/5
