Another Yong Tau Foo Shop that I was eating again under the wishlist because I forgot to take photo last time that I went there. Loocated at opposite Bugis Junction and I always avoid lunch time crowds because like a lot of people queue for picking ingredients 😬. Plus the shop look quite more spacious than in the past due to Covid-19 social distancing. Yong Tau Foo ($4.90 for six ingredients + Noodle or Rice) or you don't like to eat Noodle or Rice you can pick one more ingredients. I realised that I got a bit disappointed with pork meatballs as its look dry and hard) compared in the past (probably they cooked them too early alr) 🙃
Honestly quite impressed by this place! The place is known for the meatballs & mushroom, and I could see why. The meatball is crunchy on the outside, well seasoned and kinda had an ikan bilis taste; the mushroom was very mushroomy and soft and slippery.
I also liked the veg as it had some crunch. Taupok and taukwa were decent, taukwa was fresh and q soft but not as soft as fulin.
Arrived just before the lunch crowd hit, at about 12.15pm so come early if you don’t like queueing!
Favorite Yong Tau Foo from Lucky Plaza!
As great as ever, my favourites are the mushrooms and meatballs. This meal will always be a 10/10 for me.
Ordered 7 pieces of YTF and bee hoon ($4.80). As highlighted by other reviews, the must-order pieces are the meatball and mushroom. The chilli sauce was really good so I'd recommend ordering the dry version and spamming the chilli sauce. Cheap and delicious - one of the top 5 YTFs for sure. I'll definitely be back!
Minimum order of 7pcs with noodles/rice 》$4.80
Top up $1 for curry gravy
2 of my favourite items would be the meat ball and mushroom. The meat balls were deep fried till crispy while the inner is filled with minced meat and the braised korean mushrooms were soft, flavourful and soaked with juice.
This is the best kept secret of Bugis Cube. Located on the 2nd floor.
Try the korean mushroom and fried meatball! But maybe not the dry beehoon option as the beehoon gets a little overcooked..
Come after 1pm to avoid the lunch crowd :)
Office workers in Bugis looking for a new dining option will want to note this down. The second outlet of the famed Lucky Plaza Yong Tau Foo is tucked away on the second floor of Bugis Cube, and sports a shorter queue (for now). It's well known for its incredibly low prices and unique Yong Tau Foo ingredients like Korean mushrooms and fried meatballs. While many Burpplers love having their YTF dry, allow yourself some indulgence and go for the Curry Laksa. According to Burpple Tastemaker Jean Kao, it's less lemak than laksa and has a tinge of hae bi hiam flavour in it. When picking out Yong Tau Foo ($0.60 per piece, minimum eight pieces), don't miss out on the delightfully juicy Korean mushrooms. Everyone, including Tastemaker Jean, insists on having at least one of it in their meal because "they become so plump after soaking, so biting into them is a delight". Be sure to add a spoonful of their homemade belachan chilli and fried shallots for a spicy kick!
Avg Price: $10 per person

A bold name, but it leaves an impression for more than just that. My Favourite Cafe serves just yong tau foo, but its popularity is strong enough to spur two outlets in the city. The queue was still present even after 2pm on a weekday!
:
Even without checking online recommendations, the famed fried meatballs and huge Korean mushrooms were eye-catching enough to be must-adds. The rest of the ingredients are ordinary, though I commend on the generous array that seems to be regularly restocked.
:
The curry soup base was watery but not diluted, it’s quite like laksa with even a tinge of possibly hae bi hiam flavour in it but not as heavy. The mushrooms are great for eating with soups, they become so plump after soaking in the curry so biting into them was a delight. My fried meatball was a bit of a letdown as it was obviously been left in the open for sometime, thus cold. Crunchy still, but not impressive. I guess it would’ve been better if I had chanced upon a freshly fried batch.
:
$5.80 for yong tau foo is a hefty price in my opinion, but I wouldn’t mind going back for the mushrooms if I’m in Bugis Cube again. #BurppleBestBugis
The fried meatballs were nice and quite unique but the rest of the ingredients were quite normal, even their korean mushrooms. The soup was rather bland and most of the other ingredients are fried with not much variety. If the queue was not too long, I may eat this again. Items were 60 cents each.
Must-gets are the fried meatballs and the oyster mushrooms! Head there about 130pm or after 2pm to avoid the scary lunch crowd.
Economic and delish. Try it at my favourite cafe 2nd level #bugiscube !!
SGD 6.40.
Did you know that My Favourite Cafe (Lucky Plaza) has another branch at Bugis Cube?
You will get the same yummy homemade meatballs and braised mushrooms but with a slightly shorter queue. :) 470 North Bridge Road
Bugis Cube #02-10
Opposite Bugis Junction
Fried meat ball and Korean mushroom are very tasty... Curry is very traditional, very good.. Very nice Yong Tao Foo hidden at level 2 of bugis cube
A hidden gem in Bugis Cube where you'll see a long queue of working executives during lunch time. They are famous for their fried meatballs and braised Korean mushrooms. The crust of the meatballs is crispy and flavorful although a bit dry. I'd order at least 2 everytime. Mushrooms are thick and firm, and they absorb the braising broth very well which enhances their natural fragrance. I introduced it to my hubby and we have been going back every week :)
Impressed with the meatballs and mushroom, very yummy! So lucky that it open near to my workplace. I will come often to eat their Yong tau foo.
I have heard many good things about the famous Yong Tau Fu at Lucky Plaza but never got around to trying it till today when I realised they have a second outlet at Bugis Cube. Can't believe it took me this long to learn about their existence here since they have been open since the beginning of this year 😱 Then again, their unit #02-10 is not visible from the street. You need to take the escalator up one floor and look for the "Favourite Cafe" sign which is the name of their shop.
With regards to the taste, I am pleased to report that my expectations were met. They offer a reasonably good variety of YTF items to choose from, especially for the leafy vegetables. Every item I had in my $6.50 bowl was very fresh, with the standout being the large Korean mushrooms. The fried meatball here is also reputed to be superb but I wasn't in the mood for that. It's obvious the owners pride themselves on the details because their medium-hot sambal belachan-style chilli and fried shallots are made in-house. In my opinion, the latter goes a long way in boosting sweetness as compared to the ready-made kind.
Last but not least, who doesn't appreciate eating in air-conditioned comfort? 😄
